28 December 2020 - Lynn and Clive's New Year features on Patreon
Exclusive features for L&C's patrons on Patreon coming in January are:

3 January - Jesus: Was He Just Fake News? (Part Two) Continuing the examination of the evidence for and against the 'Christ Myth' theory, this part covers the gospel accounts of Jesus' mission, its momentous end in Jerusalem - and his alleged resurrection. Expect some surprises...

15 January - Nicolas Flamel and the Lying Raven Nicholas Flamel is perhaps the most famous alchemist in history, achiever of the Great Work and acquirer of the Philosophers' Stone. (Even the first Harry Potter novel says so, as did L&C in The Templar Revelation). But was he? Were the stories of his alchemical achievements just a later fabrication, which fooled, among others, Isaac Newton? While re-visiting their earlier references to Flamel, L&C also re-evaluate their own encounters with a twentieth-century alchemist, aptly demonstrating that the tradition of alchemical gameplaying is far from over…

Alma dos Libros have set the publication date for the new Portuguese edition of The Templar Revelation (O Segredo dos Templários). It will be out on 25 February.

22 December 2020 - The Unchosen: the story continues...
The second of this month's instalments of Lynn's memoirs, The Unchosen at Number 15, is out for her Patreon subscribers today.

In this episode, set in the late 1970s, Lynn returns to her office job with a boss who hates her, is comforted by a famous Scottish comedian, headhunted by a TV executive as girlfriend for his boyfriend, accidentally insults Thames TV head Verity Lambert and becomes involved in the world of Rock Follies. More impossibly weird stuff happens in York, and Lynn gets invited to Buckingham Palace - then comes a big wind of change...

15 December 2020 - Lynn and Clive to guest at Cuyamungue Institute online Q&A
On 24 January, Lynn and Clive will be guests on the Sunday discussion held by the Cuyamungue Institute in New Mexico, which is dedicated to the revival and preservation of ancient wisdom traditions. They'll be talking about When God Had a Wife and the sacred feminine in general.

The two-hour live Q&A is on Zoom and hosted by Institute director Laura Lee and President Paul Robear, and starts at 9am PST (5pm in the UK). For details of how to join in, see the Cuyamungue Institute's web site.

15 December 2020 - New on Patreon: Jesus - Just Fake News?
The first part of Lynn and Clive's double feature on the knotty question, often asked these days, of the historical reality of Jesus is out today for their supporters on Patreon. Following on from all the exciting material presented in The Masks of Christ, it provides key evidence for the reader to make up their own mind.

Appropriately enough for this festive season, the first part covers the Nativity story.

9 December 2020 - Forbidden History: The Search for the Real Moses
The final episode of the series, produced and directed by Charlie Clayton, focuses on Moses, a key figure in Judaism, Christianity and Islam, asking whether he was real or just a myth, and examining his story as told in the Bible.

Lynn deals with the theory equating Moses with the 'heretic pharaoh' Akhenaten - arguing that the similarities between the two have been overplayed - the idea that Moses' 'burning bush' experience may have been due to the hallucinogenic effects of the smoke, and the parallels between the Ten Commandments and the Negative Confession in the Egyptian Book of the Dead.

Along with the other members of the regular team, there are contributions from Rabbi Debbie Young-Somers, oceanographer Simon Boxall, art historian Bob Bianchi, Rick Doblin of the Association for Psychedelic Studies, and writer Ahmed Osman.

The programme also features two of L&C's chums: Graham Phillips, talking about his theories identifying Moses with Thutmose, the brother of Akhenaten, and Petra in Jordan as the true location of Mount Sinai - and Carrie Kirkpatrick, priestess and author, on Moses' use of Egyptian magic.

There's the usual Sunday repeat (13 December) at 10pm, and the show, along with all the others in this and past series, can be watched on UKTV Play.

8 December 2020 - The Unchosen latest
The latest instalment of Lynn's memoirs, The Unchosen from Number 15 is out today for her readers on Patreon.

In this highly engaging episode: Princess Margaret is indiscreet about her husband; Elton John saves Lynn from serious harm; she gets a shocking revelation in the middle of watching Cabaret; Tom Baker (Doctor Who) invites her out; Anthony Hopkins behaves disgracefully; and she drinks with Max Wall. There's more hilarious eccentricity from her flatmates, with Victor's bizarre version of Oklahoma! and Angelica stunning her respectable parents as Sally Bowles, Victor visiting Romania where he gets 'rabies' - and Lynn being very naughty with Angus' stuffy family...

2 December 2020 - Forbidden History: The Salem Witch Trials
In an especially compelling episode, Forbidden History examines events in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1692 when, in an outbreak of mass hysteria, 20 innocent women and men were executed as witches based on allegations by their neighbours. The programme looks at the impact of the trials and how things have changed in the USA - with Salem, ironically given that there weren’t any real witches involved, but fittingly, now being the USA's capital of witchcraft and a safe haven for witches.

The show's guide is Sam Baltrusis, a historian of the Salem trials and author on the paranormal - and a descendant of one of the chief accusers. In a particularly moving scene, he and Wiccan High Priestess Dana Masson, a victim’s relative, perform a ritual to heal the wounds of the past. Also interviewed are local historian Thomas Vallor and modern Salem witches Nick Dickinson and Jacqui Allouise. Directed by Charlie Clayton, this episode includes dramatic reconstructions of the events.

Lynn describes the tragedy of the events of 1692, and how similar persecutions still happen in some parts of the world.

Those who missed it can catch the show's repeat on Sunday, 5 December, or watch it on UKTV Play.

1 December 2020 - Ancient Aliens upcoming
An episode of the History Channel’s Ancient Aliens featuring Lynn premieres in the USA on Friday, 4 December at 9pm Eastern Time. Entitled 'The Galactic Keyhole', the programme looks at this mysterious symbol which is found around the world in ancient art and texts. The new season of Ancient Aliens airs on Sky History in the UK in January.

1 December 2020 - Patreon: The Grail Trail 2
The second part of L&C's feature on the Holy Grail is out today on Patreon. It focuses on Wolfram von Eschenbach's telling of the Grail quest, Parzival, as part of their exploration of the questions of whether a single object, or a single secret tradition, lay behind the tales.

25 November 2020 - Forbidden History: The Secret World of the Vatican
The Forbidden History team turn their attention to the Vatican, headquarters of the Catholic Church, and the various scandals, controversies and conspiracy theories (and conspiracies) it's been embroiled in.

Produced and directed by Patrick Hewlett, the programme examines the Church's alleged collaboration with the Nazis and the Vatican's links with the Mafia. It also features historian John Dickie and investigative journalist Philip Willan on its financial scandals and the mysterious death of 'God's Banker' Roberto Calvi, and the alleged murder of Pope John Paul I in 1978. It ends with a segment on the Jesuits' astronomical observatory in Arizona, asking why the Vatican is interested in the stars, interviewing astronomers Father Jean-Baptiste Kikwaya and Professor Chris Impey on the observatory's contribution to astronomy.

As usual, there's a repeat on Sunday, 5 December, and on-demand availability on UKTV Play.

24 November 2020 - December on Patreon
Lynn and Clive's features in December, exclusively for their supporters on Patreon will be:

1 December - The Grail Trail: The Never-Ending Quest (Part Two) L&C continue on their quest, delving deeply into the traditions behind the various tales, and ultimately asking was there really any such thing as the Holy Grail?

15 December - Jesus: Fake News? The idea that Jesus never existed is rapidly trending. To many he's simply a cynical first-century invention. As we come up to the celebration of his birth, L&C investigate the case for and against, and uncover the origins of this idea. And their conclusions might surprise you...

22 November 2020 - Metal bending and mind bending
Continuing Lynn's memoirs, exclusive to her Patreon subscribers. Now in London in the early 1970s, Lynn takes us behind the scenes with metal-bender Uri Geller, encounters Victor and Hugo, gets into her dream flat (but only after a dire tragedy), and is in serious danger from a tiger in the English countryside. TV star Gareth Hunt moves into the flat, leading to jolly times - but can they last?

18 November 2020 - Forbidden History: The Mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle
The subject this week is the mysterious area of the Atlantic Ocean where, according to many, ships and planes disappear or are inexplicably wrecked. Jamie Theakston takes the viewer through various would-be explanations - from portals to other dimensions, energy from Atlantis, experiments in the US Navy’s 'Area 51', the top secret AUTEC base in the Bahamas, to more mundane explanations in terms of extreme weather and rogue waves. The show also examines sightings of UFOs and USOs (unidentified submersible objects) in the Triangle. Along with other regular expert contributors, Lynn talks about the various theories, the history of the Triangle and her own UFO sighting.

Produced and directed by Patrick Hewlett, the episode features, among others, pilot Cary Gordon Trantham on her terrifying experience of disorientation and instrument failure in the area where Flight 19 famously vanished, 'rogue archaeologist' David Childress, meteorologist Hugh Willoughby, ex-AUTEC contractor Dave Malcolm and oceanographer Simon Boxall.

For those who missed it, the episode - along with all the others aired so far - can be watched on UKTV Play or on Sunday's repeat (22 November).

15 November 2020 - The Grail Trail, Part One
The first of a two-parter exclusively for L&C's supporters on Patreon is out today. It explores the magical history of the Holy Grail tale and, based on their up close and personal view of one candidate for the Grail, and asks what, if anything, really inspired these sagas?

11 November 2020 - Forbidden History: The Nazi Belief in the Occult
As usual, Lynn appears in this week's episode, produced and directed by Patrick Hewlett, which explores the occult ideas and beliefs that inspired the racial and quasi-religious aspects of Nazi ideology. Historian Eric Kurlander, a specialist in the Nazis' 'supernatural imaginary', tours various German sites such as the notorious SS centre of Wewelsburg castle, and there are contributions from neo-pagan Gavin Bone on the Nazis' use of runes and stage magician and playwright Neil Tobin on Hitler's employing of stage craft.

The programme also examines the use of magic on the British side, such as the Cone of Power ritual carried out by witches to ward off a German invasion in what amounts to a 'secret occult war', discussed by wiccans Philip Heselton and Janet Farrar.

The episode is ready to view on UKTV Play and there's the usual repeat on Sunday (15 November) at 9.35pm.

8 November 2020 - The Unchosen from Number 15: Everything changes
With Lynn's momentous move from York to London in 1971, her memoirs now become The Unchosen from Number 15.

In this instalment she encounters John Hurt's drunken antics, besides artists and writers in famous Soho pubs, gets backstage gossip about Liza Minelli and Marilyn Monroe, experiences a night of real terror after seeing The Exorcist, starts working on an occult magazine, meets the King of the Witches, and gets an invitation to join the Dracula Society – when everything changes...

The Unchosen from Number 15 is available in twice-monthly instalments to subscribers to Lynn's Patreon account.

5 November 2020 - Bulgarian books
Leading Bulgarian publisher Bard are to publish translations of two of L&C's books: a new and updated edition of The Stargate Conspiracy and the first Bulgarian edition of The Forbidden Universe. Great news!

Thanks to Zlatka Miranova of the Anthea Agency in Sofia and Kate Hibbert at Little, Brown in the UK for making it happen.

4 November 2020 - Forbidden History: The Secrets of the Pyramids
Lynn appears on this week's episode which focuses on the enduring fascination with the mysteries of pyramids, covering the archaeological understanding of their origins and purpose along with more unconventional views.

The show, produced and directed by Charlie Clayton, visits pyramids in Egypt, Mexico and, more controversially, Bosnia, exploring questions such as whether they were constructed purely as just tombs or something more, who built them and why, and whether the various pyramid sites around the world are connected in some way.

Specialist contributors to this week's episode include Egyptologists Marianne Tames-Demauras and Meredith Brand, archaeologist Sergio Gómez Chavez, Megalithomania's Hugh Newman, art historian Bob Bianchi and Sam Osmanagich, explorer of the Bosnian pyramid.

As usual, there’s a repeat on Sunday, 7 November, at 9.35pm and UKTV Play for on-demand viewing.

4 November 2020 - Patreon: The Paranormal and the Limits of Science
L&C's first November feature is out today for their subscribers on Patreon.

'The Paranormal and the Limits of Science: New Perspectives on Mind, Matter - and Reality Itself' examines new ideas from physics, neuroscience, anthropology and religious studies that are enabling a new understanding of reality that opens the way for even the strangest paranormal phenomena to be accepted - one day...

1 November 2020 - November on Patreon
Because of a busy schedule filming for three TV documentary series that all happened at the same time, L&C are a little behind with their features for Patreon this month.

Their first November feature, 'The Paranormal and the Limits of Science' will be out in the next couple of days. A follow-up to their last feature, 'Sceptics in the Spotlight', it looks at new evidence and thinking emerging from science and other academic fields that enables a better understanding of the paranormal - but also reveals the limits of science: while its boundaries might be widened, will some kinds of reality always be beyond its reach?

And coming on 15 November is 'The Grail Trail: The Never-Ending Quest', in which L&C turn their attention to some new perspectives on the Holy Grail, examining the origins of the legend and revisiting their previous investigation in The Templar Revelation with some provocative new material. They will also relate their own very special encounters with not one but two Holy Grails…

28 October 2020 - Forbidden History: The Mystery of the Crystal Skulls
This week's subject is the mysterious and controversial crystal skulls, said to be Mesoamerican and which have been credited with supernatural powers: are they genuine or 19th century fakes?

As one of the regular panel, Lynn appears, talking about beliefs about the skulls' otherworldly properties and the meaning of the Mexican Day of the Dead. As well as other regular panel experts, the show, directed by Charlie Clayton, features 'sceptical investigator' Joe Nickell, material scientist Ashwini Bharanthula and spiritual healer Star Johnsen-Moser.

There's the usual repeat on Yesterday on Sunday, 1 November, and on-demand viewing on UKTV Play.

22 October 2020 - The Unchosen Part 10: From Royal Ghost (maybe) to MI5 (perhaps)
The latest instalment of Lynn's memoirs, The Unchosen at Number 15, is out today on Patreon.

In this episode, she does go to the ball, with a Gay Hussar on York's magical night - with whom she encounters a strangely convincing Charles II lookalike, who seems to vanish into thin air. She becomes a teacher - and causes mayhem before being invalided out - falls for a sociopath (later seriously considered as a candidate for the Yorkshire Ripper), gets engaged to a Dutch Mummy's boy, is snowed in at the famous Black Bull Inn in the Brontës' village of Haworth when it gets rather weird... and is rejected by a London employment bureau that's almost certainly a front for MI5 - before finally getting a job in London!

21 October 2020 - Forbidden History: The Search for Noah's Ark
This week's episode, narrated as usual by Jamie Theakston, follows Andrew Jones and his research team who believe that a ship-shaped formation near Mount Ararat in Turkey is the remains of Noah's Ark, and are employing modern technology in an attempt prove the reality of the Flood.

Lynn talks about Noah as 'the ultimate climate change hero' - and the lack of evidence for a global flood. There are also contributions by geomorphologist David Montgomery, who gives a geological explanation for the formation, and Assyriologist Selina Wisnom discussing Sumerian tales that parallel but long predate the Bible story. The episode is produced and directed by Patrick Hewlett.

As usual, there's a repeat on Sunday, 25 October at 9.40pm, and the episode can be watched on UKTV Play.

15 October 2020 - Patreon: Sceptics in the Spotlight

14 October 2020 - Forbidden History: The Nazi Search for Relics
Series 6 of Forbidden History continues on Yesterday with an exploration of the Nazis' theft of holy relics and icons, such as Van Eyck's Ghent Altarpiece and the Holy Lance (aka Spear of Destiny), and their attempts to create a new religion. Among the regular contributors, Lynn talks about Himmler's occult beliefs and on the search for looted art and relics after Germany's defeat.

Produced and directed by Simon Goodall, the episode also features art crimes investigator Noah Charney, journalist Joanna Lamparska on the Nazis' theft of religious artefacts from Poland, and Dr Franz Kirchweger, curator of the Imperial Treasury in Vienna. It's repeated on 18 November at 9.35, and is on UKTV Play.

8 October 2020 - The Unchosen Part 9: Pain, comfort - and triumph!
Continuing the story of her university years, the ninth instalment of Lynn's memoirs is available for subscribers to her Patreon account. She tells of the 'Spanish Tragedy' that nearly was, has a somewhat rocky stay in hospital, where Ricky takes on the sadistic nurse who made her life a misery and an old teacher comforts her in a very vivid dream. She discovers the secret to passing her finals exam, though the zealots complain officially about her degree, and her Mum gets drunk at her graduation.

7 October 2020 - Forbidden History: The Shroud of Turin
This week's episode sees Lynn return to a subject dear to L&C's hearts - the subject of their first book. Appearing this time as a specialist contributor rather than a panel commentator, she outlines the case for the Turin Shroud being created by Leonardo da Vinci, describing L&C's replication of his method - and the 'smoking gun' of Leonardo's Salvator Mundi.

The show even-handedly presents the case for and against the Shroud being the genuine burial shroud of Jesus, together with theories of how the image could have been created artistically. It includes dramatic reconstructions of Jesus' burial and of Leonardo making the Shroud.

Other specialist contributors include Professor Bruno Barberis of the International Centre for the Study of the Shroud of Turin, prominent Shroud sceptic Joe Nickell, Shroud researcher Barrie Schwortz, forensic anthropologist Dr Mattei Borrini on the blood flows on the Shroud, microbiologist Stephen Mattingly who believes the Shroud to be genuine, and Luigi Garlaschelli of the University of Pavia on the Shroud image as an artistic creation.

As always, there is a repeat on Yesterday on Sunday, 11 October at 9.35pm, and the programme is available for on-demand viewing on UKTV Play.

1 October 2020 - Patreon: Hess revisited
L&C's new feature 'Double Helix, Double Bluff? Revisiting the Rudolf Hess Doppelgänger Theory', is available only to their Patreon patrons today. It revisits the conclusions of their 2001 book Double Standards: The Rudolf Hess Cover-Up, co-written with Stephen Prior and Robert Brydon, in the light of new DNA evidence.

30 September 2020 - Forbidden History: The Mystery of the Lost Japanese Treasure
Lynn appears in the opening episode of the new series of Yesterday’s Forbidden History, about 'Yamashita's treasure', the rumoured hidden trove of gold and other treasures plundered by the Japanese during the Second World and buried somewhere in the Philippines. The show, narrated by Jamie Theakston, follows Austrian treasure hunter Klaus Dona in his exploration of a network of tunnels in a secret location, being joined by researcher and explorer Andrew Gough.

The episode will be repeated on Sunday, 4 October at 9.35pm and is available to watch on UKTV Play.

28 September 2020 - Patreon features coming in October
Lynn and Clive's features, exclusive to their supporters on Patreon, for October will be:

1 October: Double Helix, Double Bluff? Revisiting the Rudolf Hess doppelgänger theory This is an update to their 2001 Double Standards: The Rudolf Hess Cover-Up, written in collaboration with Stephen Prior and Robert Brydon, which investigated the many mysteries surrounding Adolf Hitler's Deputy Führer, who made an extraordinary and still unexplained flight to Britain in the midst of the Second World War. Hess was to spend the rest of his long life as a prisoner, dying as the sole inmate of a Berlin jail in 1987 at the age of 93. One of the most enduring mysteries centres on the jaw-dropping claim that the prisoner wasn't actually Hess, but a double or doppelgänger. But in the light of new DNA evidence that apparently discredits the theory, what does this mean for Double Standards?

15 October: Sceptics in the Spotlight: When Science becomes Pseudoscience – and it’s not what you think! Most scientists routinely dismiss all claims of the paranormal as by definition impossible. But, as L&C reveal, not only do they ignore the hard facts about unexplained events but also the growing number of scientific explanations for even 'high strangeness' phenomena. And they reveal that underlying their scepticism is a startling double standard.

22 September 2020 - The Unchosen Part 8: Cracking up
In this instalment, available on Patreon today, Lynn arrives at Aberystwyth University. A sceptic flees from an invisible force that cracks her window, she makes Number 3 in the religious zealots' Top Ten Sinners List, is shocked to discover the malice of 'friends', experiences her greatest humiliation - and then suffers her great unravelling...

15 September 2020 - Bad Omens
L&C's latest feature, 'Bad Omens: Fear and Apocalyptic Angst in Elizabethan England', is out today for their subscribers on Patreon.

It explores the impact of - and the sometimes surprising reasons for - the age's apocalyptic expectations on literature and the origins of science.

8 September 2020 - The Unchosen Part 7: From the famous Mr Pithball to an Irish saga like no other
The latest part of Lynn's memoirs, The Unchosen at Number 15, is now out on Patreon. There's more haunting, but this time also in a pub! She introduces the famous Mr Pithball, works - hilariously - as a packer of After Eight Mints in Rowntree's Chocolate Factory, is invited to discuss her weird novel about the male gay underworld with London's trendiest publisher, and goes on a mad holiday to Ireland in a horse-drawn caravan, which is mostly surreal and funny, but there's a dark side... she and her companions are attacked and have a tune played to them by an old IRA man - on an English soldier's bones.

5 September 2020 - Coming soon: Forbidden History 6
Series 6 of Forbidden History is to begin airing in the UK on Yesterday on Wednesday, 30 September at 8pm. As with previous seasons, Lynn is one of the regular panel of experts commenting on the mysteries, theories and stories featured in each episode.

Narrated by Jamie Theakston, this year's series consists of 11 episodes, covering subjects as varied as Biblical mysteries such as Noah's Ark and the truth about Moses; classic enigmas such as the Bermuda Triangle, crystal skulls and the pyramids; hidden treasures looted by the Nazis and Japanese in the Second World War, and many others. For the full list see Yesterday's web site.

Lynn and Clive are particularly excited about the second episode - about the Shroud of Turin, the subject of their first book. Lynn presents the case for the image on the Shroud being a photograph by Leonardo da Vinci.

Alongside familiar faces Richard Felix, Andrew Gough, Tony McMahon, Dominic Selwood and Guy Walters, this series' panel of expert commentators includes historian Karen Bellinger, art historian Sheila Hoffman and archaeologist and ex-special forces operative Klint Janulis.

Forbidden History is produced by Like a Shot Entertainment. The executive producers are Bruce Burgess and Henry Scott.

Each programme will be repeated on the following Sunday and will be available on UKTV Play for on-demand viewing after the first broadcast.

4 September 2020 - Saunière Society talk cancelled
Unsurprisingly, given the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, the Saunière Society's symposium in Newington on 10 October, at which Lynn and Clive were due to give a talk on When God Had a Wife, has been cancelled. Hopefully it will be rescheduled for early next year.

1 September 2020 - New on Patreon: The Evolution of Evolution
L&C's new Patreon feature is out today, looking at the many ironies in the development and acceptance of the neo-Darwinian theory of evolution. Exclusive to their patrons on Patreon.

26 August 2020 - Lynn & Clive's September Patreon features
Upcoming features exclusive to L&C's patrons on Patreon will be:

1 September: The Evolution of Evolution
Darwin's theory of evolution was original, complete and totally God-less - right? Actually, the evolution of evolution was complex and full of ironies, as L&C reveal in this feature. Among other surprises, Darwin's theory left room for a Creator, he never claimed that natural selection explained everything, and the likes of Richard Dawkins are much more inflexible than Darwin himself...

15 September: Bad Omens: Fear and Apocalyptic Angst in Elizabethan England
Looking back, Elizabethan England seems like a golden age, but in fact it was one of rising hysteria and even panic. Developing a theme discussed in The Forbidden Universe, we show how challenging new science and apocalyptic events such as a supernova and an earthquake shook old certainties radically - but also inspired some of the greatest literary works in the English language and influential sages such as John Dee… And then suddenly there were three queens in a row… Had God changed the rules?

15 August 2020 - Patreon: Lucifer's Devilish Attraction
Lynn and Clive's latest Patreon feature is available to patrons today.

As Netflix's Lucifer prepares to make his final bow, they look at the back history of the real Lucifer - or as real as he ever gets - and ask just what's his appeal? 1 June 2020 - The Unchosen at Number 15: Lynn launches her memoirs on Patreon
Lynn has launched a Patreon account for her remarkable and revealing memoirs The Unchosen at Number 15: A Memoir from the Deepest Dark, which will be available exclusively to patrons.

The Unchosen at Number 15 is the story of how a Yorkshire girl from a poor background in the 1950s survived a badly haunted house, besides emotional and sexual abuse and conversion to a cult. How she became the UK's 'Paranormal Agony Aunt' and the co-author of the book that would inspire almost the whole world to talk about Jesus and Mary Magdalene…

For a monthly pledge of £3 (plus VAT/sales tax in relevant territories) patrons receive two monthly instalments in PDF format.

(PLEASE NOTE: Lynn's writing on historical and religious subjects will be available on her and Clive's joint Patreon page.)

To become a patron of Lynn’s memoirs, go to her Patreon page.

15 May 2020 - New Patreon feature on the real Leonardo
The second of Lynn and Clive's patron-only features is available on Patreon today.

Entitled 'Not the Messiah, But a Very Naughty Boy: Introducing the real Leonardo da Vinci, trickster - and heretic', this feature reveals that, contrary to the usual academic view, there was nothing stuffy about Leonardo. Quite the opposite! Famous in his day for being flamboyantly witty, he was also a highly skilled illusionist - and hoaxer. And if you don't get that aspect of his life you'll never truly understand his work. Because running parallel to his tricksy side was his deep contempt for the Church, references to which he hid in plain sight in his artworks - including one truly jaw-dropping example...

13 May 2020 – Demokracija interview
The Slovenian weekly news magazine Demokracija carried an interview of L&C by Ian Bozic on subjects featured in The Templar Revelation: the heretical symbolism in Leonardo da Vinci's paintings, Mary Magdalene, the Holy Grail, the Knights Templar - and what it was like filming The Da Vinci Code.

11 May 2020 - Paradigm Explorer review
The new issue of Paradigm Explorer, the journal of the Scientific and Medical Network, carries a review of When God Had a Wife by editor David Lorimer, who writes that the book 'breaks new ground in showing how goddess worship was present in early Judaism' and is an 'important contribution' to the process of bringing the sacred feminine into our culture. Thanks, David!

8 May 2020 - June's Patreon features
L&C's upcoming features for their Patreon patrons are:

1 June: 'The Sacrificed Daughter's Tale: Ancient Israel’s Warrior Goddess Revealed?' Based on their ongoing research into one of the major themes of When God Had a Wife, the feature examines one of the most baffling, and even distasteful, stories in the Old Testament, that of Jephthah's – anonymous - daughter, slaughtered by her father to fulfil a promise to God. But as this feature reveals, an in-depth analysis of this nasty little tale contains some astonishing clues to the existence of an ancient Israelite cult of the warrior goddess - and her devoted priestesses...

15 June: 'Bad Faith, Bad Science: Extremists on Both Sides of the Great Evolution Battle', which explores in more depth a key theme of The Forbidden Universe, the clash between the most extreme atheists and fundamentalist Christians that uses evolution as its battleground - a battle in which no one is the winner. The feature shows how in their headlong rush to eradicate 'superstition', the New Atheists are not only seriously harming the whole practice of science with their closed minds and determination to squash honest debate, but they are turning into fanatical fundamentalists in their own right. And they even misrepresent Darwin himself!

1 May 2020 - Lynn and Clive launched on Patreon!
Lynn & Clive's new venture on Patreon is launched today. For a monthly pledge of £3 (plus VAT in the UK) patrons get exclusive access to L&C's new and unpublished features.

The first feature, available today, is 'Sisters of the Temple: The Mysteries of Women in the Knights Templar', which challenges the usual image of the medieval Templars as the embodiment of everything macho and military. As L&C show, the Order of warrior monks actually included women, though mystery still surrounds them. What were their true roles? And why is their very existence not more widely acknowledged? The feature reveals an entirely new side to the always-mysterious Templars.

On 1 June Lynn will be launching a separate Patreon account, initially showcasing her memoirs, The Unchosen at Number 15, in monthly instalments.

The pagan emagazine PaganPages reviewer, Saoirse, has given When God Had a Wife a glowing - and in-depth - recommendation, including this paragraph:

"This book is chock full of great history, amazing research, great messages, and intriguing writing. All devotees of religion in modern times ought to read it because of its exemplary research, revelation of ugly, uncomfortable truths we ALL need to accept, and its celebration of the once, present, and future goddesses who history and the patriarchy could not silence, and never will."

The review - and the whole magazine - can be read at PaganPages.org.

27 February 2020 - Cauldron stirred
L&C appeared live on Marla Brooks' Stirring the Cauldron podcast, dedicated to pagan and paranormal topics, on the Para-X Paranormal Radio Network. Despite having to get up for the ungodly (ungoddessly?) hour of 2am, the interview was so relaxed, fun and interesting that the allotted hour flew by. Apparently, the emails and social media responses from listeners as the programme was going out were all enthusiastically positive, too.

The show can be heard on various platforms: Stirring the Cauldron’s podcast page and YouTube channel, Marla's web site, both Marla’s and the show’s FaceBook pages and on iTunes. So no excuses for not listening.

Many thanks to Marla and her producer Sarge Guttuso for a great night.

19 February 2020 - Professor Heather Couper: very sad news
It is with great sadness that Lynn and Clive mark the death of their friend, the astronomer, author and broadcaster Professor Heather Couper CBE, aged 70, after a short illness. They – particularly Lynn – had known her for many years, together with her great friend, companion and business partner Dr Nigel Henbest. Heather was, as Nigel said, utterly 'charismatic', and lit up the room. Her sheer glamour and talent for communication will be much missed. Condolences to Nigel and her family and wide circle of friends.

19 February 2020 - Energy Stew
Yet more publicity for When God Had a Wife. L&C recorded a conversation with Peter Roth for his Energy Stew podcast on the Progressive Radio Network. It'll be going out in March - date to follow.

The hearteningly enthusiastic wave of publicity for WGHAW continues… L&C recorded a 90-minute interview with Miguel Conner – ‘professional storyteller, garage philosopher, and hedge historian’ – for his Aeon Byte Gnostic Radio show. Apparently, reading The Templar Revelation many years ago caused him to seriously question his Catholic faith and set him on a new spiritual quest.

Details of the broadcast to follow…

14 December 2019 – Coast to Coast again
Coast to Coast AM with L&C’s old friend Ian Punnett. Great to be talking to him again!

29 October 2019 – Not the Messiah, but a very…
The Spanish magazine Más Allá, dedicated to strange phenomena and mysteries, carried a four-page piece, ‘El Rostro de la Sábana Santa es el Leonardo da Vinci’ (‘The Face on the Holy Shroud is that of Leonardo da Vinci’) by Maria Lorente, based on her interview with Clive during his publicity trip earlier this month.

26 October 2019 – Green Stone 40
Lynn and Clive were thrilled to appear at the Green Stone 40th Anniversary Convention at Wolverhampton’s Britannia Hotel, hosted by Andrew Collins and Graham Phillips and organised by Deborah Cartwright. This landmark event celebrated the 40th anniversary of the truly magickal happenings that ushered in the birth of psychic questing.

L&C spoke on The Stargate Conspiracy – it being its 20th anniversary – and the Council of Nine. Other speakers, besides Andrew, Graham and Debbie, were Paul Weston, Richard Ward and Caroline Wise. And as Biblical-style rain caused flooding around Wolverhampton, delegates and speakers remained in excellent spirits, thanks to the local Wetherspoons and a startlingly good curry at the Dilhad Indian Restaurant!

21 October 2019 – L&C signed to MacFarlane Chard

20 October 2019 – Turin Shroud in El Mundo
Javier Sierra’s article on L&C’s Shroud book for the Spanish national paper El Mundo - based on his conversation with Clive in León - is published to great acclaim. The article focuses on their bizarre meetings with ‘Giovanni’, allegedly a high-ranking member of the Priory of Sion, whose comments about the Shroud, off-the-wall though they seemed, actually checked out…

14 October 2019 – El Gran Secreto publicity
Clive had a packed day of back-to-back interviews promoting El Grand Secreto de Leonardo da Vinci in the library of the Hotel La Letras in Madrid’s Gran Vía, including, among others, with Maria Lorente of Más Allá magazine, the Italian news agency Ansa, Radio Círculo’s Mistérica programme. All were arranged by Luciérnaga’s publicist Lola Escudero, with Isabela Herranz again on hand as interpreter.

13 October 2019 – Master of the Prado
During a rest day in Madrid, Clive was given a tour of the Prado Museum, Spain’s national art gallery, by Javier Sierra, who took him through the esoteric and heretical reading of symbolism encoded in some of the gallery’s classic paintings, as featured in his haunting novel The Master of the Prado.

These included Hieronymus Bosch’s triptych The Garden of Earthly Delights, Velázquez’s Las Meninas, Titian’s La Gloria - and the Prado’s own Mona Lisa, long believed to be a late copy but revealed by recent restoration to have been painted at the same time as the Louvre original by Leonardo’s pupils – or perhaps by Leonardo himself…

12 October 2019 – Ocultura: Leonardo’s Great Secret revealed!
As Lynn was sadly too ill with agonising back spasms to travel, Clive undertook the publicity trip to Spain to launch El Grand Secreto de Leonardo da Vinci, the updated translation of Turin Shroud: How Leonardo da Vinci Fooled History, published by Luciérnaga as part of its Ocultura series.

First on the itinerary was León for a talk about the book at Encuentros de Ocultura Internacionale (International Occulture Conference), a four-day festival of lectures, one per evening, organised by award-winning novelist and television personality Javier Sierra. This year’s theme was the Great Mysteries of Art, just right for L&C’s book. Clive’s talk was the closing one of the conference, on Saturday night which was also Spain’s National Day.

The day began with the regional paper Diario del León publishing a short article advertising the talk written by L&C.

In the morning Clive and Javier were given a private tour of the San Isidoro Basilica by Raquel Jaen, director of the Colegiata de San Isidoro , including the burial vault of the Kings of León and the Chalice of Doña Urraca, a – surprisingly plausible – candidate for the vessel that inspired the Holy Grail romances (or those in which it’s the Cup of the Last Supper).

In the evening came Clive’s keynote talk to a full house at León’s City Auditorium. Before the lecture, he met their publisher, Toñi Ramiro, head of Luciérnaga, who ceremonially presented him with a copy of the book. Then came the talk, with translation by L&C’s old friend Isabela Herranz - highlights being the video comparing the face of the man on the Shroud with Leonardo’s Salvator Mundi, and the finale showing the giant phallus in the Louvre Virgin of the Rocks… all shown on a giant screen. The talk was followed by a book signing. Phew!

All this was superbly organised by Javier and the team at the City Auditorium. Thanks too to the tour company Autores de Viajes, especially Sergio Garcia, for organising the travel.

6 October 2019 – Ocultura coming
The León newspaper La Nueva Cronica published a double-paged spread on the International Ocultura Conference, highlighting L&C's talk on Leonardo da Vinci and the Turin Shroud. All this successfully built the anticipation for the talk and the launch of the updated Spanish edition of Turin Shroud: How Leonardo da Vinci Fooled History.

26-27 September 2019 – It’s Forbidden
Lynn filmed most of her contribution to Forbidden History series 6, as usual under the watchful eye of over-all director Bruce Burgess, but also with thanks to director Patrick Hewlett. The new format means that this time there’s no Jamie Theakston as presenter, but there are more episodes.

25 September 2019 – Five more for When God Had a Wife
When God Had a Wife has been awarded its second five-star review on NetGalley, by Lisa Davison, who commented: ‘For those want to further study this important piece of the history of religions, the book will not disappoint.’ Click here for the full review.

21 September 2019 – Turin Shroud’s 25th anniversary
A thrilling day! Today marks the 25th anniversary of the publication of L&C’s first book, Turin Shroud: How Leonardo Da Vinci Fooled History. Who would have thought that a somewhat hesitant meeting at Bloomsbury Publishers in 1993 would be the beginning of a co-authorship that shows no signs of grinding to a halt all these years later?

It’s highly gratifying that the book is not only still around – having been through three revisions, presenting new and compelling evidence for Leonardo da Vinci’s faking of the Shroud – but it even has a new lease of life with the updated Spanish edition about to be launched next month.

11 September 2019 – Green Stone 40 talk details
Details of L&C’s talk at the Green Stone 40th anniversary conference in Wolverhampton on 26 October have been finalised.

Entitled ‘The Nine Deception: 20 Years of The Stargate Conspiracy’, the talk will tell the extraordinary, fifty-year-long story of the 'Council of Nine' channelling cult, invented and maintained by truly X-Files style US government agents - the ultimate – apparently - psychic quest for power and mind manipulation, and a serious lesson in the reality of uncontrolled experimentation on the innocent. Twenty years ago Lynn and Clive exposed the 'Nine' in their ground-breaking book The Stargate Conspiracy, arguably helping to close down the experiment. But we forget the lessons at our peril...

For full details, and to book, see the conference web site.

Micki Binstead-Light has invited Lynn to give her controversial Mary Magdalene talk – ‘Christ’s wife, Reformed Whore – or Strident Harpy with a Lust for Glory? - to the Nova Stellar meet-up moot, at the Castle Pub in London, on Monday, 12 August. The talk will begin at 7.30 and the entry fee is a very reasonable £3.

The UK publication of When God Had a Wife has been set for 9 January 2020 – but it can be pre-ordered from Amazon NOW!

29 June 2019 – Secret Sauceress
Journalist Andy Martin’s article, ‘Saucerful of Secrets?’, about the apparent recent revival in UFOs after they’d fallen off the radar – literally and figuratively - over the last couple of decades quoted Lynn as author of The Mammoth Book of UFOs. Lynn took the line that UFOs are real – whatever that might mean – but also primarily ‘shape-shifters’ whose form takes culturally appropriate images.

5 June 2019 - News about the When God Had a Wife UK launch

More details to follow.

15 February 2019 - When God Had a Wife launch date
The publication date for L&C's new book, exploring the sacred feminine in Judaism and early Christianity, has been set for 3 December in the USA and UK. Published by Bear & Co, it will be available as a paperback and an e-book.

Subtitled The Fall and Rise of the Sacred Feminine in the Judeo-Christian Tradition, the book presents the astonishingly overwhelming historical and archaeological evidence for goddess-worship among the ancient Israelites, especially Yahweh's consort Asherah, but which was also centred on other female deities such as the fierce warrior-goddess Anat.

L&C also show how the sacred feminine was written out of the religion during the post-Exile reforms - but survived underground in figures such as Lady Wisdom. Finally, they reveal how this secret - but enduring - tradition, dating all the way back to the Exodus from Egypt, can even be traced to the mission of Jesus and his 'heretical' counterpart Simon Magus, connecting with some of the key themes in The Templar Revelation and The Masks of Christ.

Advance orders can be placed through Bear & Co's web site or on Amazon.

13 February 2019 - Stargate interview
L&C were interviewed by Jim Harold for his UFO Encounters podcast about their seminal book The Stargate Conspiracy, which celebrates its 20th year in print this year.

The interview will be available on Jim's subscription web site within the next couple of weeks - details to follow.

7 February 2019 - Stargate on Kindle
To mark the 20th anniversary of The Stargate Conspiracy - amazingly it really has been in print in the UK and USA for all that time - Sphere have launched a Kindle edition, available from today.

On its first publication in 1999, The Stargate Conspiracy sparked bitter controversy not only in more conventional circles but also, because of its searing critique of certain particularly cherished beliefs of 'alternative' history, among that community too.

The book reveals the existence of a truly remarkable plan to manufacture a quasi-religious belief system centred on the idea that the gods of ancient Egypt were really advanced extra-terrestrials - who are about to return. At the heart of the story is the channelling cult based on alleged psychic contact with the 'Council of Nine', whose devotees and channellers in its 50-year-plus history have included senior politicians (even a former Vice President), members of some of America's wealthiest families, physicists, leading New Age gurus and individuals such as Uri Geller, Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry and several leading 'alternative' authors. In fact, L&C present evidence that the Nine were born in a US government-backed parapsychology lab as part of an experiment into the creation and manipulation of belief.

The questions raised in The Stargate Conspiracy - not to mention its stark warnings - remain as relevant as ever. As Fortean Times wrote, after reading it 'you may never again look at any New Age movement based upon "divine" or "extraterrestial" revelations in quite the same way.'

11 January 2019 - Stargate Conspiracy at the Green Stone
Lynn and Clive are cock-a-hoop to have been booked to speak at the Questing Conference's Green Stone 40th Anniversary Convention at the Britannia Hotel, Wolverhampton on Saturday, 26 October 2019, organised by Andrew Collins. They will be talking about the pernicious 50-year-long manufactured channelling cult, based on the 'Council of Nine', the central theme of their book The Stargate Conspiracy - which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

See the Future Events page for the full details of the weekend and how to book.

14 November 2018 - Stargate Conspiracy e-book

The print version of Jack Sarfatti's Star Gate, which includes Lynn and Clive's essay 'Future Mind' (see below), is published today by Lambert Academic Publishing.

It can be purchased online from MoreBooks.

22 September 2018 - Opening the Star Gate
Lynn and Clive have contributed an essay to physicist Jack Sarfatti's new book, Star Gate, the e-book edition of which is launched today by Lambert Academic Publishing, subtitled Essays by and about the disruptive ideas of physicist Jack Sarfatti on mind, matter, consciousness, time travel to the stars and beyond.

Their essay, 'Future Mind', gives an overview of Jack's life and the development of his remarkably influential - but apparently wacky - ideas, and his encounters with high strangeness that helped form them…

The e-book is available from MoreBooks.

A print version will be available soon.

23 August 2018 - Forbidden History: Secret Societies - World Domination
In this year's final show Jamie Theakston looks at various secret groups who have been alleged to control the world from behind the scenes - among others, the Freemasons (in particular the sinister Italian lodge P2), Opus Dei, the Bilderberg Group, Bohemian Grove and Yale University's Skull and Bones. Jamie also explores the trending phenomenon of 'fake news'.

Lynn appears among the other regular contributors - Andrew Gough, Tony McMahon, Dominic Selwood and Matt Green - discussing the reasons for forming and joining secret societies and the extent, real and imagined, of their influence. The programme also features Freemason and author Dr Robert Lomas, David V. Barrett, author of A Short History of Secret Societies, Professor Andrew Kakabadse (author of Bilderberg People) on the influence of the Bilderbergers on US foreign policy and Will Moy of the factchecking charity Full Fact.

16 August 2018 - Forbidden History: The Dead Sea Scrolls Mystery
Or rather mysteries, given the many questions surrounding this important source of Biblical history: Who wrote them? Why did the Vatican try for so long to prevent them being made public? Why were they hidden in the first place? What (if anything) do they reveal about Jesus and the origins of Christianity? Is the unique Copper Scroll really the treasure map it appears to be? And are there more scrolls to be found - indeed, have recent discoveries been kept under wraps? Enough to be getting on with for one show...

Jamie Theakston visits Jerusalem and Qumran itself, meeting archaeologists Danny Herman and Oren Gutfeld, antiquities dealer Khader Baidun and Pnina Shor, head of the Israel Antiquities Authority's Dead Sea Scrolls Project. He also looks into the related mystery of the controversial lead codices recently discovered in Jordan, talking to David Elkington, who believes them to date from the same time as the Dead Sea Scrolls and to be equally, if not more, revelatory.

Lynn outlines the conclusions of The Masks of Christ, that the reason for the shockwaves that ran through the Vatican when the Scrolls were discovered in 1947 was because of what they might reveal about John the Baptist and his true relationship with Jesus - the big secret the Church has been trying to suppress for 2000 years.

15 August 2018 - A Spanish invasion
Lynn and Clive were delighted to welcome bestselling Spanish author Javier Sierra and his wife Eva - not forgetting young Martin and Sofia - along with their group from Aran Viajes tours to the esoteric sights of London, accompanying them to the Temple Church, Freemasons' Hall and the quirky and fascinating Sir John Soane's Museum.

L&C were also presented with official 'Authors on Tour' Indiana Jones-style hats - being modelled in the photo. Explorers at last!

The day was special, and highly memorable - and in a very good way!

9 August 2018 - Forbidden History: The Real James Bond
This week Jamie Theakston examines the cultural phenomenon that is James Bond, exploring the reasons for 007's success and the questions of how accurately (or not) his adventures reflect the real-life world of espionage and intelligence and how true the movie-version Bond is to Ian Fleming's original creation.

Attempting to experience Bond's lifestyle, Jamie fires guns, drives an Aston Martin DB5, pilots a speedboat up the Thames and samples a vodka martini. One has to admire his dedication! (He does give Bond's womanising a miss though.) He talks to, among others, film armourer John Baker, Bond expert Ajay Chowdhury and security analyst (and perhaps former MI6 officer) Alan Judd, as well as Bond girl Maryam d'Abo.

Although it's a boys-own story, Lynn gives a female perspective on the reasons for Bond's popularity with men and women, and the significance of vodka. She didn't get a martini though.

2 August 2018 - Forbidden History: Hitler's Treasure and Monuments Men
The subject of this week's show is the Nazis' industrial-scale looting of art treasures and cultural artefacts and relics from occupied countries - and the Allies' efforts to recover them during and after the Second World War, mainly through the 'Monuments Men', academics and other experts drafted in to the military. Jamie Theakston visits the Ataussee salt mines in Austria, where thousands of works of art were stashed, and Vienna's Hofburg Palace to look at the fabled 'Spear of Destiny' with curator Dr Franz Kirchweger.

Lynn talks about the motives of Hitler and the other Nazi leaders for the plundering - their desire to establish Germany as Europe's greatest cultural power - as well as SS chief Heinrich Himmler's obsession with relics and other objects of great symbolic and even magical power. In addition to Lynn and the other regulars, there are contributions from journalist Stephan Koldehoff and art historian Konrad Kramar.

31 July 2018 - The new book: When God Had a Wife
Lynn and Clive are thrilled to announce they have just signed the contract for their new book, When God Had a Wife, for the American publishers, Inner Traditions/Bear & Co. Focusing on the long-forgotten Jewish goddesses - and their extraordinary tenacity! - it will also examine the 'goddess' roles of certain significant women in early Christianity. The book is due to be published next year.

26 July 2018 - Forbidden History: The Stasi - Behind the Berlin Wall
In this week's episode Jamie Theakston is in Berlin, uncovering the Cold War story of the East German secret police, the Stasi, in particular its control of the population through surveillance, a network of informants and psychological trickery. He talks to, among others, Dr Christopher Nehring, curator of the German Spy Museum, and former Stasi prisoner Peter Keup.

Lynn appeared alongside the other regular contributors (Dominic Selwood, Dr Matt Green, Tony McMahon and Andrew Gough), talking about the pressures of living in such a tightly-controlled state and the techniques, such as 'gaslighting', used to undermine suspected dissidents psychologically.

19 July 2018 - Forbidden History: Uncovering the Historical Jesus
The opening episode of Forbidden History series 5 aired on UK's Yesterday Channel. In it, Jamie Theakston explores the historical evidence for the Gospel stories about Jesus - and even for his existence - travelling to Jerusalem to look at the sites connected with his crucifixion and burial with historian Dr Eyal Miron.

Lynn outlined the conclusions of The Masks of Christ, that although Jesus was a real historical figure he was very different to how he is depicted in the New Testament. Other contributors included historian and novelist Dominic Selwood, Heretic magazine's Andrew Gough, self-styled 'Beardy historian' Tony McMahon and Raphael Lataster of the University of Sydney.

Watch out for repeats. The episode can also be watched on UKTVPlay.

4 May 2018 - Leonardo's alien encounters?
Lynn appeared as a contributor on the subject of the real Leonardo da Vinci - his genius, love of trickery and his often startling heresy (if you know where to look) - in the somewhat quirky setting of the History Channel's Ancient Aliens.

The episode, 'Da Vinci's Forbidden Codes,' explored the question of whether Leonardo was influenced by extraterrestrials. Lynn thought probably not.

14 March 2018 - Saunière Society's David Pickering
Lynn and Clive write:

We're sorry to hear from Joy and Chris Millar of the passing of Saunière Society Journal editor David Pickering, after a courageous battle against cancer. It was always a pleasure to work with him.

6 March 2018 - Passing of Peter Rogerson, iconic Magonian
Lynn and Clive write:

We're saddened to learn of the passing of Peter Rogerson, the stalwart of the Magonia Review of Books and of British ufology since the 1960s. He died peacefully in hospital in Manchester at the age of 67.

Sceptical but open-minded (as a genuine sceptic should be) towards paranormal and Fortean phenomena, Peter championed the view of UFOs and reports of alien encounters as a psychosocial, rather than physical, phenomenon, a perspective much in favour in the 1970s but which has since been eclipsed by a more materialistic, 'nuts and bolts' approach. He amassed an enormous collection of books and publications, which are being passed on to the Archive for the Unexplained (AFU) in Sweden.

As AFU's Clas Svahns writes, in one of the many tributes from the ufological/Fortean world, 'Peter is now sailing to Magonia'.

Magonia editor John Rimmer's tributes to his old friend Peter can be read at the Magonia web site.

The latest edition of New Dawn magazine has an article by Gary Lachman on the Ocultura conference in León, Spain, where he and Lynn and Clive spoke last October. It's called 'On the Trail of Occulture'. Gary mentions L&C and includes a photo of them looking at the Holy Grail - or rather, an Holy Grail - in León's San Isidoro basilica.

17 January 2018 - Cocteau 2
The new issue of the Saunière Society Journal includes the second part (of three) of L&C's article on Jean Cocteau, exploring the connections of this most enigmatic of cultural icons with individuals involved in the controversial Priory of Sion story, and why his name was chosen as one of the Priory's alleged Grand Masters.

This examines Cocteau's life after 1918, in particular his associations in the 1950s with individuals connected with the Priory of Sion story, and the light they shed on why his name was chosen as one of its Grand Masters.

Saunière Society members receive the journal as part of their membership - for details see their web site.

Thanks yet again for your enthusiastic support, Javier!

4 November 2017 - Origins Conference
L&C appeared at the Origins Conference, the annual gathering organised by author/researcher Andrew Collins and devoted to mysteries of the ancient past, at London's Rudolf Steiner House. Their talk was on The Stargate Conspiracy, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in print next year, and concentrated on the strangest of strange-but-true stories, that of the Council of Nine - alleged extraterrestrial 'space gods' whose devotees included members of America's elite but were, in all likelihood, the product of a sinister experiment in the manipulation of belief.

It was the usual memorable day, with a plethora of thought-provoking lectures. Thanks to Andy for the invitation and Debbie Cartwright for the smooth and characteristically efficient organising.

L&C are delighted to hear that their friend - and host during their recent trip to Spain - Javier Sierra has won Spanish's most prestigious literary award, Premio Planeta de Novela, for his novel El Fuego Invisible. Felicitaciones, amigo!

9-13 October 2017 - A Spanish adventure: Masks of Christ, a Fallen Angel and the Grail…
Lynn and Clive were off to Spain to promote the just-released Spanish edition of The Masks of Christ (Las máscaras de Cristo), part of Luciérnaga's 'Ocultura' series edited by author and TV personality (and all-round famous-but-still-nice-guy) Javier Sierra, who L&C have known and worked with since meeting in 2006. Their mini-tour included media interviews in Madrid and an appearance at the International Occulture Conference (Encuentro Internacional de Ocultura) in León, hosted by Javier and tied in to the book series.

L&C travelled with fellow writer (and founder-member of 80s' super-group Blondie) Gary Lachman, whose Politics and the Occult has also just been published as part of the Ocultura series, and his partner Anja Fløde Bjørlo.

Arriving at the Hotel Vincci Mint in Madrid's Gran Vía, they were met by Javier, who took them on a tour of the city's famous Retiro Park, mainly so he could show Lynn its 'Lucifer' statue atop the Fountain of the Fallen Angel (erected in 1922 and subsequently coincidentally found to be 666 meters above sea level).

The first full day was given over to serial press and recorded radio interviews in the hotel - most in its spectacular rooftop bar. L&C were happy to renew their acquaintance with Isabela Herranz, who was translating. Lola Escudero from Luciérnaga's press office was also on hand.

The next day, 11 October, the four were off by train to León, where they were met by Javier and his wife Eva. Seeing the posters for the week-long Ocultura conference fixed to traffic lights en route to the hotel, the scale of the event began to dawn - a week-long series of talks, one an evening with free admission, in León's 1000-seat City Auditorium.

The hotel was even more spectacular than the sophisticated Madrid stop-over: the Hospedería de la Real Colegiata de San Isidoro is part of the 11th-century complex of buildings attached to the San Isidoro basilica, and was originally built to accommodate pilgrims on the nearby route to Santiago de Compostela. A few hours to settle in, and to meet Javier and Eva's brilliant kids, Martin and Sofía - 10-year-old Martin had come from playing his dad in a scene from a TV series about Javier's life - as well as Sonia Labanda, who would be translating for both talks, then it was off to the Auditorium for Gary's highly thought-provoking talk.

The day of Lynn and Clive's talk, 12 October, was a public holiday - Spain's National Day, in fact - which was bound to boost attendance. L&C were pleased to meet top Spanish esoteric writer Enrique de Vicente - who turned out to be a fan. L&C, Gary, Javier and Enrique were filmed outside León's Santa Maria cathedral for the digital newspaper Leonoticias, as part of its coverage of the Ocultura conference.

Although L&C had a little trepidation about outlining their somewhat controversial conclusions about Jesus in the home of the Spanish Inquisition, their talk, to a full house, went down very well. The book-signing afterwards was a sell-out! There was a pleasing amount of coverage in the regional press, both in advance and the day after, such as this piece in La Neuva Crónica.

The next morning the party was treated to a tour of the basilica, which houses the burial chapel of the Kings of León, including a private viewing of its great treasure, the Chalice of Doña Urraca, personally led by historian Margarita Torres, author of The Kings of the Grail, in which she argues - very plausibly - that the chalice was the inspiration of the Holy Grail tales (at least those in which it's the cup of the Last Supper). Then the train back to Madrid, farewells to Gary and Anja who were staying for an extra few days, and the return flight to London.

Altogether, a fabulous, if hectic time and enormously encouraging for Lynn and Clive to find such enthusiasm for their work in Spain. Immense thanks to Javier and all at Luciérnaga, not just for the very welcome professional exposure, but for the staggeringly generous amounts of tapas, vino tinto and gin. Despite the latter, they will remember the trip for a very long time.

08 July 2015 - John Dee Tea update
Sadly, Lynn and Clive have had to cancel their book signing at the John Dee of Mortlake Society's celebration of Dee's birthday on Monday, 13 July.

19 June 2015 - Conspiracy
Broadcast of the episode 'The Nazi King' in Channel 5's series Conspiracy, produced and directed by Paul Nelson.

The show examined four conspiracy theories concerning the British royal family, with L&C contributing to two allegations relating to the Second World War: the Duke of Windsor's Nazi connections - including the claim that he passed vital strategic information to the Germans - and the involvement of his brother (and the present Queen's uncle), the Duke of Kent, in a desperate attempt to make a deal with Hitler to end the war. This was based on their 2001 book Double Standards: The Rudolf Hess Cover-Up, co-authored with Stephen Prior and Robert Brydon. (The other two segments concerned Princess Margaret's alleged illegitimate son and the death of Princess Diana.)

Other contributors included controversial royal biographer Andrew Morton and historian Jonathan Petropoulos.

Thanks to Paul, assistant producer Sacha Thorpe and series producer Ed Booth.

The documentary is available online at Demand 5.

15 June 2015 - The Harry Potter Grand Master
The next edition of the Saunière Society Journal, available soon, will include Lynn and Clive's latest article in their series on the Grand Masters (alleged) of the Priory of Sion. This time they're delving behind the myths surrounding Nicolas Flamel, the famous medieval alchemist (alleged) and star (if off stage) of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Saunière Society members receive the journal as part of their membership - for details see their web site.

5 June 2015 - Conspiracy air date
The episode of Channel 5's new series Conspiracy on royal conspiracies, featuring Lynn and Clive on the mystery of the Duke of Kent's death in 1942 and the allegations of treason levelled at the Duke of Windsor, is to be broadcast on Friday, 19 June at 8pm.

Conspiracy examines historical events in the context of conspiracy theory - and certainly there's no shortage of them around!

19 May 2015 - Forbidden History III filming
Lynn and Clive were interviewed for episodes of the third season of Yesterday Channel's Forbidden History, in which Jamie Theakston investigates historical mysteries. The subjects of this year's shows are under wraps for the time being (sorry). Forbidden History III will air in the autumn.

2 May 2015 - Origins Conference
L&C are delighted to have been invited to speak at Origins 2015, the ancient mysteries conference organised by author and researcher Andrew Collins and Megalithomania. Their talk will be 'Science's Occult Secret, Quantum Magick - and Isis in the Vatican', based on The Forbidden Universe.

The day's other speakers include Andrew Collins, Graham Hancock and Megalithomania organiser Hugh Newman, among many others. It's on Saturday, 7 November, at the Queen Mary, University of London's Mile End campus in East London.

Well worth the trip to the edgy and atmospheric East End!

1 May 2015 - More Conspiracy filming
Lynn and Clive returned to Channel 5's studios in London's Crossharbour for more filming for an episode of the forthcoming series Conspiracy examining conspiracies involving the British royal family. (Those shots of them in their 'office' were filmed in the corner of a Channel 5 room. Pan around and you'd see posters for Big Brother… But that's television for you!)

29 April 2015 - History's Murder Mysteries
Dusting off her Miss Marple hat, Lynn did filming for a series about the mysteries surrounding the deaths of the likes of Juan Borgia and the Duke of Brittany - for Battlefield Series Productions Ltd - in a series of freezing churches and graveyards. Oh the glamour…

Details of the broadcast will follow when known.

24 February 2015 - WitchFest talk announced
L&C's talk this year will be 'The Templars: Keepers of a Shocking Secret', in which they will show that the medieval Knights Templar really did guard an astonishing heretical secret. And though it has become something of a cliché, this really does have the power to terrify the Catholic Church - and even poses a threat to the whole of the Christian religion.

WitchFest is on Saturday, 14 November, at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon, London. For details of the day and to book, see the WitchFest web site.

This is one annual event that is seriously not to be missed!

The latest Saunière Society Journal came out featuring L&C's article on Johann Valentin Andreae, which investigates his involvement in the 17th-century Rosicrucian Manifestoes and why his name was chosen by the compiler of the list of the Priory of Sion's supposed Grand Masters - whoever that might have been…

11 February 2015 - Everything Stops for Dee
L&C are thrilled to be specially invited to sign books at the prestigious John Dee of Mortlake Society Tea in July. The invitation came about because Lynn was unable to take books along to her talk in October. (Clive was supposed to give the talk, too, but stayed away to help Sinziana Paduroiu, the astrophysicist, who had a terrible accident on the way to the event and had to be hospitalised.)

The Dee Tea is in the afternoon of Monday, 13 July and is to celebrate John Dee's birthday in the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Mortlake High Street. There'll also be a guided tour of John Dee's Mortlake. And there will be, of course, lashings of tea - and particularly scrumptious cake.

5 February 2015 - Da Vinci Shroud online

8 January 2015 - Shamanism at Sacred Space
L&C kicked off the new year with their talk 'Shamanism: Gateway to the Gods' at Rudolf Steiner House in London, attended by friends old and new. As ever, thanks to Marion Briggs for the invitation.

10 December 2014 - Forbidden History: The Genius of Nikola Tesla
L&C popped up again in Jamie Theakston's look into the visionary and free energy pioneer Tesla.

Jamie's bravely being sealed inside an iron maiden-style Faraday cage while being blasted with artificial lightning made for memorable TV.

3 December 2014 - Forbidden History: Top Secret Nazi UFOs
This week's episode saw Jamie Theakston in Poland in search of the secret underground bases where the Nazis are said to have experimented with revolutionary new aircraft designs.

Clive was one of the contributors, along with Alan Butler, Simon Cox, Polish researcher Igor Witkowski and Maurizio Verga of the Italian Centre for UFO Studies.

1 December 2014 - Return to Sacred Space
L&C have been invited by Marion Briggs of Sacred Space at Steiner House to deliver their talk 'Shamanism: Gateway to the Gods?'

They'll be speaking at 7.30pm on Thursday, 8 January, in the Eurythmy Room of Rudolf Steiner House, Park Road, London NW1 (near Baker Street Station). For full details of the event, including admission, see the group's FaceBook page.

26 November 2014 - Forbidden History: The Oracles of the Dead
Lynn appeared in this week's show, in which Jamie Theakston, accompanied by Heretic magazine editor Andrew Gough, went in search of the ancient oracles of myth and legend.

19 November 2014 - Forbidden History: The Secrets of the Illuminati
In perhaps the most controversial episode of this year's series, Jamie Theakston went on the trail of the Illuminati, the alleged sinister cabal that is increasingly believed to run the world.

The search took Jamie to Paris and London, and included organisations such as the Freemasons and the Bilderberg Group, with contributions from researcher Robert Howells and journalist David Hambling.

L&C, along with several of the other regular contributors, cast doubt on whether the Illuminati even exist. Perhaps inevitably - given the fevered fantasies that surround the whole subject - their very denial has encouraged some to accuse them of secretly being initiates!

(When Lynn pointed out to one particularly hostile viewer via Facebook that she is not only not an Illuminati but is not an initiate of anything, the response was 'in that case, you're criminally ignorant…')

15 November 2014 - WitchFest!
L&C made their annual appearance at WitchFest International, this year with their talk 'Shamanism: Gateway to the Gods.'

As always, it was a pleasure being part of such a great event - witches being among the most welcoming people around! Thanks to organiser Dave Mercer and the fabulous Children of Artemis.

L&C have already been booked for next year's WitchFest, which will be on Saturday, 14th November at the usual venue, the Fairfield Halls in Croydon.

12 November 2014 - Forbidden History: The Real Holy Grail
Along with fellow regulars Alan Butler, Andrew Gough, Rev Lionel Fanthorpe and Simon Cox, L&C were featured giving their opinions on various candidates for the Grail investigated by Jamie Theakston.

These included the Hawkestone Grail found by Graham Philips, the Nanteos Cup, the Santo Caliz in Valencia and the Shugborough Hall monument.

5 November 2014 - Forbidden History: The Lost Treasure of Petra
The second series of Forbidden History, written and directed by Bruce Burgess and produced by HSP Productions, kicked off on the Yesterday Channel with presenter Jamie Theakston investigating tales of treasure in, and the illicit trade in historical artefacts from, the ancient city of Petra in Jordan.

This and the other shows will, of course, be frequently repeated. They're also available to view on Yesterday's on-demand service.

24 October 2014 - Shamanism at WitchFest
L&C have announced the subject of their talk at this year's WitchFest International.

Entitled 'Shamanism: Gateway to the Gods', the talk will explore the question of whether traditional shamans hold the key, not only to other dimensions, but also to healing through magical communication with their own DNA. They will also argue that the priestesses and priests of ancient Egypt were initiates of a powerful shamanic tradition (not to mention imbibing shedloads of certain substances).

WitchFest International is on Saturday, 15 November at Croydon's Fairfield Halls - see the Future Events page for details.

22 October 2014 - I Spy…
Lynn was filmed for the Battlefield Productions' series A History of Spymasters, directed by Bruce Burgess, about various historical spies and spymasters, including Cardinal Richelieu, Thomas Cromwell and Mata Hari. Filming took place in the spookily atmospheric basement of the Goring Hotel, central London.

The series will be broadcast on Yesterday in 2015.

14 October 2014 - John Dee of Mortlake Society talk
This turned out to be one of L&C's most memorable evenings - and not for the best of reasons…

Their friend, the astrophysicist Sinziana Paduroiu, had come over from Geneva especially to hear their talk, but was run over by a car on the way there. Clive accompanied her to Croydon University Hospital, while Lynn went on to give the talk.

The talk was 'John Dee and the Copernican Revolution' at the AGM of the John Dee of Mortlake Society, in St Mary the Virgin church (Dee's own!) in Mortlake, South West London.

The talk centred on John Dee as England's champion of Copernicus' new and controversial heliocentric theory, and how there was considerably more to this than mere science: behind Copernicanism lay complex and daring esoteric thinking that even fuelled a political agenda of revolutionary intensity.

Thanks to the Society and to John and Judith Rimmer for the invitation - and for comforting and encouraging Lynn who arrived in a state of semi-shock after witnessing the accident. And wishing Sinziana a speedy recovery!

9 October 2014 - Forbidden History series 2 airdates announced
The second series of Forbidden History, presented by Jamie Theakston and including contributions by L&C, will begin showing on the Yesterday Channel on Wednesday 5 November.

The six-part series will cover subjects as diverse as the Holy Grail, Nazi UFOs and the Illuminati. Forbidden History is written and directed by Bruce Burgess and produced by HSP Productions in association with Like A Shot Entertainment and UKTV.

30 September 2014 - Templar Revelation - the audiobook
L&C are delighted to announce that an audiobook of The Templar Revelation is to be produced by W.F. Howes. It will be out in 2015, so watch this space for a date…

18 September 2014 - Working with a Hero
L&C were thrilled to be filmed in conversation in various locations in Kensington with the legendary physicist Dr Russell Targ, who conducted "psychic spying" experiments on behalf of the CIA in the 1970s.

The filming was for a theatrical release documentary by producer/director Lance Mungia, with renowned cinematographer Monty Rowan.

Often meeting one's hero can be a let-down, but this was definitely the exception!

17 July 2014 - New Saunière Society Journal article: Robert Boyle
The new issue of the Society's Journal, with the latest in L&C's series on the list of the Priory of Sion's Grand Masters, is out now.

This time they look at the 17th-century alchemist and pioneer scientist Robert Boyle.

See the Society's web site for details on how to join.

10 July 2014 - Getting Away With It at Sacred Space
L&C gave their talk 'The Emperor's New Clothes: Twenty Years of Getting Away With It (If Only Just)', and were delighted to see so many attendees.

Thanks, as always, to Marion Briggs for the invitation.

23 June 2014 - Sacred Space invitation
L&C have been invited to talk on their 20 years as a writing team to Sacred Space at Steiner House, on Thursday, 10 July.

Entitled 'The Emperor's New Clothes: Twenty Years of Getting Away With It (If Only Just)', the talk will look back on some of the trouble that their books have landed them in over the last two decades, including blacklisting, break-ins - and being sued by the Grand Master of the Knights Templar…

The evening starts at 7.30 and will take place in the Eurythmy Room of Rudolf Steiner House, Park Road, London NW1 (near Baker Street Station).

For full details of the event, see the group's FaceBook page.

21 June 2014 - Saunière Society
L&C gave their talk 'Royalty, Religion and Revelation', looking back over their 20 years as a writing partnership and troublemakers, at the Society's one-day conference in London's Conway Hall.

Thanks to Joy Millar, as always, for the invitation - and to the society for its support over the years.

17 June 2014 - The next Grand Master
The next issue of the Saunière Society Journal, available in mid July, will include the third of L&C's series of articles on the (alleged) Grand Masters of the Priory of Sion. Their subject this time will be the 17th-century scientific pioneer Robert Boyle, highlighting his occult interests and - as ever - exploring the question of why such a name should appear as a Priory of Sion Grand Master.

16 June 2014 - Rennes-le-Château revisited
Clive was interviewed by producer/director Josh Whitehead for a documentary on the Rennes-le-Château mystery, part of the Yesterday channel series Raiders of the Lost Past (distributed internationally under the title Myth Hunters).

The show is scheduled for broadcast in 2015 - details to follow when known.

3 June 2014 - Dee date
L&C are thrilled to have been invited to speak at the John Dee of Mortlake Society meeting on Tuesday, 14 October - in Dee's own church of St Mary the Virgin, Mortlake, no less!

They will be talking on John Dee and the Copernican Revolution, showing how there was considerably more to Dee championing the new and controversial heliocentric theory than mere science. They will also reveal the underlying complex and daring thinking - which even fuelled a revolutionary political agenda.

For full details, see the Future Events page or the John Dee of Mortlake web site.

31 May 2014 - RILKO Summer Conference
L&C were delighted to speak at the first Summer Conference of the Research Into Lost Knowledge Organisation (RILKO) at the elegant Rudolf Steiner House in central London.

Their talk on 'The Real Leonardo - Photographer, Heretic and Though Not the Messiah A Very Naughty Boy' was enthusiastically received. Thanks to Robert Harris and his team for a hitch-free day.

31 May 2014 - 'Life is a Cabaret, Old Chum…'
As they had a long-standing speaking engagement, Lynn and Clive were unable to attend the funeral of their friend Bob Brydon in Edinburgh, although of course they raised a wee dram in his memory. Characteristically, he went out to the music of 'Cabaret', his favourite song.

22 May 2014 - Sad news - Robert Brydon dies
Lynn and Clive are hugely saddened to hear that their friend, the Scottish historian Robert Brydon, has passed away after a long illness in his beloved Edinburgh. They write:

'We got to know Bob well in the early 2000s when he provided additional research for three books we co-authored with the late Stephen Prior. It was never less than a joy to work with him.

'One of the cliches often wheeled out on these occasions is "we'll never see the like of him again", but in Bob's case it is no more than the literal truth. He was truly a one-off: a profoundly erudite man who wore his learning lightly, and who was great fun with a wicked sense of humour. He was famous for his hospitality and generosity of spirit - always encouraging and helpful, digging into his vast reserves of information to provide fellow researchers with both factual back-up and a great fund of fascinating anecdotes.

'We send our love and condolences to his widow, our friend the artist Lindsay Brydon.'

25 March 2014 - Filming Forbidden History series two
L&C recorded interviews for series two of Yesterday Channel's Forbidden History, a particular pleasure as the session took place in the historic Anchor pub in London's Bankside, close to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.

Under the genial direction of Bruce Burgess, and with Jamie Theakston as the star presenter, they covered a huge spread of subjects, from Nazi occultism to the magical design of London. (Curiously, however, the room seemed to become colder and colder, calling to mind the filming of series one, when it was 8 degrees below in central London.)

L&C were also delighted to be accompanied by Iulia Serafim, a former Romanian television luminary - and new friend - and Melissa Kassinen, a very talented make-up artist. It was the first time L&C had ever had anything approaching an entourage - or 'people' - and so they were determined to make the most of it.

The new series will be shown on the Yesterday channel in autumn 2014. The first series is still available to view on Yesterday's on demand service.

12 March 2014 - John Ritchie, 1947-2014
Lynn and Clive write:

'We are very sad to hear of the sudden death of our friend John Ritchie, the broadcaster and man of many parts, at the age of 67.

John, the founder of the Midlothian community radio station Black Diamond FM and the Edinburgh Guide web site, was a great supporter and help during our collaboration with Stephen Prior in the late 1990s and early 2000s, during which we worked for long periods at the Templar Lodge, the hotel run by Stephen in East Lothian where John was a familiar figure. Since then meeting up with John was one of the highlights of Saunière Society weekends in Newbattle Abbey.

A member of the Militi Scotia Templi, the Scottish Templar revival organisation, of which he became Grand Herald, John had a lifelong association with, and was an authority on, Rosslyn Chapel - he was born in Roslin village, and his grandfather was caretaker of the Chapel. Appropriately, his funeral is to be held there on Friday (14 March).

We will miss John's enthusiasm, knowledge, and very Scottish sense of humour.'

The Scotsman (among other newspapers and web sites) carried an obituary covering John's full career - indeed careers.

10 March 2014 - The first RILKO Conference
Lynn and Clive are thrilled to have been invited to address the first-ever conference of their old friends, the Research Into Lost Knowledge Organisation (RILKO) at the Rudolf Steiner House, central London, on 31 May 2014. They will give their popular 'Real Leonardo' talk.

Thanks to Sylvia Francke and Bob Harris for the invitation. For full details of the event, and to book, see the RILKO web site.

8-9 March 2014 - The Mysterious Earth Conference
Straying far from their south London base, and especially up north - even, as Yorkshirewoman Lynn put it, 'the wrong sort of north' - can usually be a bit of a strain for L&C. But their visit to Preston, Lancs, to take part in the conference hosted by Neil McDonald of Megalithic Tours, turned out to be a great experience.

They gave two talks: on the Saturday, they focussed on the themes of their last book, The Forbidden Universe: The Occult Origins of Science and the Search for the Mind of God. Sunday saw them give their 'Real Leonardo' talk to a highly responsive audience. They left feeling they had made many friends.

Thanks to Neil for the invitation and for organising such a memorable event, and to Helen Johnson and David Taylor for providing the taxi service.

28 February 2014 - Leonardo: at home with the artists
Lynn and Clive were delighted to give their talk on The Real Leonardo to the Rochester Branch of the Scientific and Medical Network, which took place, appropriately, in Bernard Allum's Delta Studio close to Rochester Cathedral. A packed audience was appreciative of the revelations - and also of the host's generous hospitality. Thanks to Bernard for a lovely evening, and to Yvonne Louis for organising the event.

25 January 2014 - SMN Kent talk
L&C's talk on 'The Real Leonardo' to the Scientific and Medical Network's Kent branch, postponed from before Christmas, will now be on Friday, 28 February.

For details of time, venue and admission, see the group's web page.

23 January 2014 - The Woman Who Jesus Kissed
Lynn gave her talk on 'The Woman Who Jesus Kissed: the Real Mary Magdalene' to a large and enthusiastic audience - including several old friends - at Sacred Space at Rudolf Steiner House in central London. Thanks to Marion Briggs for the invitation.

17 January 2014 - Saunière Society Journal: Sir Isaac Newton
The latest edition of the Saunière Society Journal, available now, includes the second in L&C's series on the alleged Grand Masters of the Priory of Sion.

In this article they look at Sir Isaac Newton, concentrating on his occult interests and heretical religious views and their influence on the scientific work for which he is now best remembered.

Saunière Society members receive the Journal as part of their membership. Single copies are available from the Society for £5.00 or €6.00. For details see the Saunière Society web site.

11 December 2013 - New Saunière Society date
L&C are to speak at the Saunière Society's London symposium on Saturday, 21 June 2014, on the highs and lows of their 20-year joint writing career. The event is in the Conway Hall in Red Lion Square, Holborn. For full details see Society's web site and the Saunière Society on facebook.

7 December 2013 - New Saunière Society Journal article
The second of L&C's articles for the Saunière Society Journal on the alleged Grand Masters of the Priory of Sion will appear in the next edition, due out - appropriately enough - on 17 January. Their subject this time is Isaac Newton.

The twice-yearly Journal is one of the benefits of membership of the Saunière Society. For details, see the Society's web site.

5 December 2013 - Colin Wilson, 1931-2013
A very sad day for English literature - and the esoteric circuit. Writer, speaker and life-changer extraordinary Colin Wilson died, aged 82.

From his early days as a famous 'Angry Young Man', with his landmark book The Outsider, it was clear he was always going to shake things up in a big and meaningful way. Both Lynn and Clive knew him - Lynn from the early 1980s, when he was consultant for the iconic partwork The Unexplained of which she was Deputy Editor - and always looked forward to encountering him at conferences.

He was refreshingly different, funny, humble, honest and direct - not to say courageous, for he took on the vexed world of the paranormal in his major tomes The Occult and Mysteries, giving it the benefit of his formidable intellect and respect. He was one of the greats and should be remembered as such.

1 December 2013 - Scientific and Medical Network Kent talk postponed
Because of a number of members not being able to attend due to of Christmas commitments, L&C's talk to the SMN Kent branch has been postponed until the new year. The new date will be announced as soon as it has been arranged.

9 November 2013 - WitchFest!
As usual L&C looked forward to speaking at this annual gathering of witches and occultists organised by the Children of Artemis, with its remarkably welcoming and friendly atmosphere, at Croydon's Fairfield Halls. And this year they finally made it to the Hall's main Concert Hall stage - the very same on which Tom Hanks, as Robert Langdon, appeared in The Da Vinci Code movie, with Croydon doubling for Paris.

This year the blurb for L&C's talk reads: 'Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince reveal the shameless way successive patriarchies have set out to crush the Sacred Feminine - originally celebrated in their religions - from God's consort to Jesus' partner, a feminine Holy Spirit and the Mormon "Heavenly Mother". But the goddess will always find a way to make us aware of her beneath all the misogyny and hate…'

As always, thanks to Dave Mercer for organising this great event, and to assorted Croydonians and witches for making the whole day memorable - for all the right reasons.

7 November 2013 - Darkside Mystery
Broadcast in Japan of NHK BS's Darkside Mystery episode with a section on the Turin Shroud that includes an interview with L&C on the Shroud image as a photograph (see their first book, Turin Shroud: How Leonardo da Vinci Fooled History).

The show also commissioned its own Shroud-making using L&C's method, with very gratifying results.

4 November 2013 - Happy 40th, FT!
The 40th anniversary edition of Fortean Times is out today. L&C were honoured to have been asked by editor David Sutton to be among the contributors asked to pick their all-time favourite FT story or feature - a phenomenally difficult task.

However, L&C swiftly homed in on one particular piece - in fact one that had a truly pivotal effect on their lives: a report, way back in the 15th anniversary edition in 1988, by Mike Dash on the then recent carbon dating of the Turin Shroud. Dash's observations spurred their research into the Shroud, which led to their first book - and to their joint writing career that celebrates its own 20th anniversary in 2014. And you can't get much more inspirational than that. Thanks, FT!

2 November 2013 - WitchFest 2014!
Even before their appearance at WitchFest 2013, L&C have been confirmed for next year's event, which will be the 10th anniversary of this spectacular gathering. It was also mark L&C's 20th year as co-authors.

28 October 2013 - WitchFest talk
Details of L&C's talk at WitchFest International this year have been announced.

Entitled 'Heavenly Mother, Mrs Christ and Ms Holy Spirit', the talk will show how, from the Old Testament Yahweh's consort through Christ's lover to the Mormons' Heavenly Mother, successive patriarchies schemed to suppress the Goddess and the Sacred Feminine, and how, in what must be the most outrageous propaganda in history, they fabricated the Virgin Mary…

WitchFest International is on Saturday, 9 November at Croydon's Fairfield Halls. For full details of the day, and to book, see the WitchFest International web site.

25 October 2013 - Forbidden History: The Treasure of Solomon

17 October 2013 - Going over to the Darkside
L&C were interviewed about their research into the Turin Shroud as essentially a photograph for NHK BS, the satellite channel of Japan's national broadcasting organisation.

The interview will be part of the Darkside Mystery series, to be broadcast in Japan on 7 November.

11 October 2013 - Forbidden History: The Bloodline of Christ
Broadcast of the third show in Jamie Theakston's series on the Yesterday channel, exploring the claims that descendants of Jesus are alive today, and the related mysteries of Rennes-le-Château and the Priory of Sion, the secret society that supposedly protects the holy bloodline.

Lynn appeared talking about the historical Mary Magdalene and her relationship with Jesus, while Clive outlined L&C's conclusions about the Priory of Sion (that it is a modern group that concocted the 'bloodline' claims as a cover story).

The other interviewees included Andrew Gough, Lionel Fanthorpe, Robert Howells, Pat Jokl and Corjan de Raff.

As always, the programme is available on Yesterday's on demand service.

5 October 2013 - When the Saints go marching out…
Lynn broke new ground for her career as a speaker by giving a talk about the Church of Latter Day Saints - the Mormons - to the Saunière Society at their one-day symposium in Newington, near Folkestone.

Concentrating on the reasons for the flood of members now exiting the faith, she drew on her experience as a Mormon missionary, and detailed the many problems with the religion. She was pleased to invite Yinka Lawal, a former Mormon bishop, to speak briefly about his own experiences.

Thanks to Joy Millar for such a great day.

4 October 2013 - Forbidden History: The Third Secret of Fatima
Clive appeared, talking about the culture of secrecy in the Vatican, in the second show in the Yesterday channel's series presented by Jamie Theakston, which explores the claims of a cover-up by the Catholic Church about the real Third Secret supposedly revealed by the Virgin Mary during an apparition in Portugal in 1917.

It took Jamie to Jerusalem, Scotland's Rosslyn Chapel, England's Royston Cave and Oak Island in Nova Scotia.

L&C were interviewed on the historical Templars and the possible nature of their treasure. Other interviees included Lionel Fanthorpe, Robert Howells, Andrew Sinclair, Shimon Gibson and Andrew Gough.

The show will be available for a time on Yesterday's on demand service.

The first of six weekly shows, produced and directed by Bruce Burgess, is 'The Lost Treasure of the Templars.'

11 September 2013 - Scientific and Medical Network
L&C spoke to the Scientific and Medical Network at the Jack Phillips pub in Godalming on their book The Forbidden Universe: The Occult Origins of Science and the Search for the Mind of God (2011). Their blurb read:

'Based on their latest book Lynn and Clive will reveal the true origins of science and show how scientists' denial of their discipline's esoteric roots undermines their capacity to understand their own discoveries…

All the great names of the Scientific Revolution - from Copernicus to Newton - were directly inspired by the Hermetica, mystical texts traceable to ancient Egypt. But a strange collusion between religion and science led to a rewriting of history to eliminate the importance of the Hermetic tradition.

Although rarely mentioned to the wider public, cutting-edge modern science, particularly quantum physics, has overwhelmingly indicated that the universe was designed for intelligent life. In fact, as Lynn and Clive show, these discoveries gel remarkably with the ancient cosmology of the Hermetica.'

Thanks to Gerri McManus for the invitation to speak, and for organising such a fascinating crowd. L&C were particularly happy to speak in a Wetherspoon.

31 August 2013 - Sir David Frost
With the sudden death of British television legend Sir David Frost, Lynn and Clive have lost a key figure in their joint history.

It was Sir David who was the first influential broadcaster to recognise the potential in their Leonardo-and-the-Shroud theory. After personally pitching the idea to the high-ups at the BBC, it was his production company - David Paradine Productions - which made L&C's first documentary, shown in October 1995. Entitled 'Double Exposure', produced by Trevor Poots and directed by Nikki Stockley, it was part of the BBC 2 Everyman series.

In 2001 Sir David was the executive producer of Paradine's documentary 'Hitler and Hess', based on L&C's book - co-authored with the late Stephen Prior - Double Standards, which was shown on ITV in the UK and the History Channel in the USA.

19 August 2013 - Leonardo Rocks!
Volume 4 of the digital Heretic Magazine has an article, 'Leonardo Rocks!' by L&C. Marking the tenth anniversary of the publication of Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, they present updates on their research into Leonardo's heretical beliefs.

The magazine, edited by Andrew Gough, also has articles by, among others, Robert Bauval, Robert Eisenman, Robert Feather, Mark Foster, and David Rohl. It is available as a pdf download from The Heretic web site.

17 July 2013 - Saunière Society Journal
The new edition of the Journal, edited by Stefan Hager, carries the first of L&C's series looking at the alleged Grand Masters of the Priory of Sion, beginning… no prizes for guessing who with… Leonardo da Vinci. Of course.

The series will explore whether the individuals on the famous - or notorious - list of the Priory's Grand Masters really were involved with the Priory. And, if they weren't, why their names were chosen.

The Journal is available to members of the Saunière Society. For details of how to join, see the Society's web site or look up The Saunière Society on Facebook.

14 July 2013 - Farewell Ian!
L&C were honoured to be the last-ever guests on Ian Punnett's Coast to Coast AM radio show, after his 13 years as a host.

Ian was particularly keen to hear about the major revelation of The Masks of Christ - left hanging at the end of the last radio chat - about the real relationship between Jesus and John the Baptist. They also talked about their latest research into the Turin Shroud.

For those who missed it first time around, the show can be heard on-demand on the Coast to Coast web site.

12 July 2013 - The final guests
Lynn and Clive are thrilled to have been asked to appear, by Ian Punnett's special request, as his last-ever guests on his Coast to Coast AM radio show this Sunday (14 July). The show begins at 10pm PST (6am Monday UK time). L&C will be on for the final hour, at 1am (9am UK).

The show is syndicated to stations throughout the USA and Canada, and can also be listened to online and on iPhone. For details see the Coast to Coast AM web site.

6 July 2013 - Scientific and Medical Network booking
L&C are to give a talk based on The Forbidden Universe to the September meeting of the Surrey group of the Scientific and Medical Network, the educational charity dedicated to exploring science, medicine, philosophy and spirituality.

The talk will be at 8pm Wednesday, 11 September at the Jack Phillips pub (a Wetherspoon) in High Street, Godalming. Entrance is £5.00 in advance, £7.00 on the night. For full details, and for advance tickets, see the group's web page.

21 June 2013 - A Heretic for The Heretic
The August issue of the online The Heretic Magazine, edited by Andrew Gough, will include an article by L&C on Leonardo da Vinci - not to mention their own careers - in the light of the ten years that have passed since the publication of Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code.

15 June 2013 - The Grand Masters
The Saunière Society Journal is to run a series of articles by L&C on the historical figures claimed to be Grand Masters of the Priory of Sion, exploring the reasons why their names were chosen for this dubious roll call. Unsurprisingly, they have chosen to begin the series with their personal hero Leonardo da Vinci.

The journal, now under the editorship of Stefan Hager, will be out in July. It is available to members of the Society as part of their annual subscription of £20. For details of how to subscribe, see the Saunière Society web site.

8 June 2013 - Lynn to talk on Mormons
As a former Mormon missionary, Lynn is to give a talk on the decline of the Mormon church, entitled 'When the Saints Go Marching Out…' to the autumn symposium of the Saunière Society to be held at Newington Village Hall, Folkestone, on Saturday, 5 October.

For full details of the day, see the Saunière Society web site.

29 May 2013 - Lynn and Clive to speak at Mysterious Earth 2014
Lynn and Clive have been invited to appear at the next year's Mysterious Earth Conference 2014, organised by Megalithic Tours. The conference is on the weekend of 8-9 March 2014 at the wonderfully-named Grimsargh Village Hall in Grimsargh near Preston, Lancashire.

L&C will be speaking on both days, giving talks on The Forbidden Universe and the real Leonardo da Vinci.

For full details, and to book, see the Megalithic Tours web site. Many thanks to Neil McDonald for the invitation.

7 May 2013 - A historic day
At last - official recognition of the great historical polymath and occultist John Dee! L&C were delighted to attend the unveiling of a rather carefully-worded plaque (stressing his holy orders but obviously omitting all mention of his occultism) in his old church, St Mary the Virgin at Mortlake. Astoundingly this is the first memorial to Dee anywhere in the world.

The church was packed with members and friends of the John Dee of Mortlake Society - including members of the clergy - who had been campaigning for some such recognition for Dr Dee for many years. The plaque was unveiled by Benjamin Woolley, author of a biography of Dee, who also gave an entertaining talk. Emily Hoffnung, the artist who created the plaque - made of Welsh slate in honour of Dee's Welsh ancestry - was there to see her handiwork made public.

Congratulations to the Society for their persistence and achievement.

In L&C's view, Dee might have talked to angels, but he was also a trail-blazing cartographer in the golden age of exploration, a great mathematician and philosopher who deserves to be honoured as a national treasure.

Thanks to John and Judith Rimmer for the personal invitations to this historic event.

29 April 2013 - Leonardo in the City
L&C gave their talk on the real Leonardo - heretic, photographer and though not the Messiah still a very naughty boy - to the Moot with No Name in the Bell pub in the City of London.

20 April 2013 - Newbattle again
L&C were delighted to be asked to give two talks over the weekend of the Saunière Society's symposium at Newbattle Abbey, near Edinburgh. They spoke on the real Leonardo da Vinci and also gave a presentation on their research into the real story of the Priory of Sion to kick off a general discussion on the subject.

Although both talks were well received, things were rather enlivened during one by the fire alarm, which saw speakers and audience decant onto the lawn, and during another by the mysterious crashing of a book from a display on a mantlepiece. And yes, it was one of L&C's…

Thanks to Joy Millar for the event.

21 March 2013 - Leonardo in Croydon
L&C gave their talk 'The Real Leonardo: Not the Messiah but a Very Naughty Boy' to the monthly gathering of the Croydon group of the Children of Artemis held in the Green Dragon pub. A delightful evening in good company. Thanks to CoA's Tam Campbell for the invitation.

18 March 2013 - New Moot talk
The Moot with No Name, the series of monthly talks and discussions on esoteric subjects, have invited L&C to give their talk on 'The Real Leonardo' on Monday, 29 April. The venue is the Bell pub in Middlesex Street, near London's Liverpool Street station.

11 March 2013 - Forbidden filming
Lynn and Clive spent the day filming for Forbidden History, a new series for the Yesterday channel in which Jamie Theakston investigates various historical, religious and esoteric mysteries. L&C were interviewed on by Jamie in the (freezing) crypt of the St John Priory church in London's Clerkenwell. Their contributions will be used in several of the shows.

The series, produced and directed by Bruce Burgess, will be broadcast in the autumn.

9 March 2013 - Leonardo in Newington
L&C gave their talk 'The Real Leonardo: Not the Messiah but a Very Naughty Boy' to the one-day conference of the Saunière Society in Newington, Kent. As always, it was good to be among friends, although the presence of the late John Millar was sorely missed.

19 February 2013 - Lucifer on (Red) Ice
Lynn appeared on the Internet radio show Red Ice Radio, talking mainly about The Secret History of Lucifer but also discussing some of the issues raised in Mary Magdelene: Christianity's Secret Goddess. Thanks to host Henrik Palmgren.

For those who missed it live, the show can be heard on Red Ice's archive.

15 February 2013 - Stargate reprinted
As a sign of the continued - and growing - interest in The Stargate Conspiracy, the book has been reprinted in the UK by Little, Brown. L&C are pleased that it has remained in print for 14 years.

31 January 2013 - Children of Artemis date
L&C are to give their talk 'Leonardo da Vinci - Not the Messiah but a Very Naughty Boy,' to the Croydon moot of the wiccan and witchcraft group Children of Artemis on Thursday, 21 March. The monthly gathering is held upstairs in the Green Dragon pub in the High Street, Croydon.

The talk is open to non-members. Admission is £2.00. For more details see the Children of Artemis web site.

22 January 2013 - Lynn on Ice
Lynn has been invited to guest on the Sweden-based independent Internet radio show Red Ice Radio, hosted by Henrik Palmgren, to talk about her book The Secret History of Lucifer. She will be appearing on Tuesday, 19 February. The show can be heard on the Red Ice web site and will be archived for on-demand listening.

17 November 2012 - Witchy and Wonderful: Lynn and Clive's Day at WitchFest International
Lynn and Clive were, as usual, thrilled to speak at WitchFest International, Fairfield Halls, Croydon. Airing their new talk, 'The Real Leonardo Da Vinci - Not the Messiah…', in the Hall's Ashcroft Theatre, they were hugely gratified that the audience immediately 'got' the big reveal of Leonardo's shockingly schoolboyish addition to the Virgin of the Rocks.

As always, it was a special day, wafting around in the idiosyncratically welcoming atmosphere of WitchFest - a nicer bunch would be hard to find anywhere - and drinking in the jollity (along with more obvious things). It was especially good to meet up with friends old and new and share a day to remember.

Thanks to Dave Mercer and his Children of Artemis team for organising WitchFest, and more personally to Maurice Brennock, Sheila Andrews, Sally Morgan and Helen Scott for their support, friendship and fun.

As Lynn and Clive are already booked to speak at next year's WitchFest, there is no excuse not to come along!

18 October 2012 - eBook plans
Little, Brown are planning eBook editions of two of L&C's books with them, The Stargate Conspiracy and Double Standards: The Rudolf Hess Cover-Up (co-written with Stephen Prior). No dates have been set yet - watch this space!

28 September 2012 - Kate Valentine UFO Show
L&C's appearance on the Kate Valentine Show for a wide-ranging discussion over the subjects raised in The Stargate Conspiracy - published in 1999 but still going strong!

For those who missed it, the show can be heard on the show's archive.

12 September 2012 - Saunière Society dates
As always, L&C are delighted to have been invited to speak at the Saunière Society's two spring events, although they will of course be tinged with sadness because of the absence of John Millar.

The first is on Saturday, 9 March, at Newington Village Hall, Folkestone, Kent, and the second the weekend symposium at Newbattle Abbey just outside Edinburgh in Scotland. At both L&C will be giving their talk on the 'Real Leonardo da Vinci'.

Further details of the events can be found on the Saunière Society web site.

Thanks to Joy Millar for the invitations.

19 August 2012 - Valentine date
L&C have been invited to appear on Kate Valentine's UFO Show broadcast on WVNJ 1160 AM radio on 28 September. They will be talking about The Stargate Conspiracy, a book that is still receiving a lot of attention after 13 years in print. The show airs in northern New Jersey and parts of New York State and Connecticut, and can be heard everywhere online from WVNJ's web site.

9 August 2012 - Fortean farewell
The latest edition of Fortean Times, available from today, incudes Lynn and Clive's obituary and tribute to their friend John Millar, Chairman of the Saunière Society, who sadly passed away on 24 June.

19 July 2012 - New eBook edition of Turin Shroud
Maintaining the curious pattern of a revised edition every six years since its first publication in 1994, available from today is the eBook of Turin Shroud: How Leonardo da Vinci Fooled History, published by Little, Brown.

This edition includes a new epilogue (only available in the eBook) detailing Lynn and Clive's new research into the connection between the Shroud and Leonardo's recently rediscovered painting Salvator Mundi.

30 June 2012 - A Day for Dr Dee
Lynn and Clive were delighted to speak at Dee Day, the one-day conference organised by the Atlantis Bookshop to explore the life and legacy of John Dee, the Elizabethan magus, mathematician, map-maker, spymaster and - most fascinatingly -'arch conjuror of England'. The conference, coinciding with Damon Albarn's folk opera Dr Dee, took place at London's Swedenborg Hall.

L&C discussed the esoteric background to Dee as champion of Copernicus' then new and radical (to say the least) heliocentric theory, setting it against the apocalyptic ferment that gripped Europe in the late sixteenth century.

The well-attended conference was smoothly chaired by John Rimmer of the John Dee of Mortlake Society. The other speakers were historian Glyn Parry, who emphasised the central importance of the occult philosophy throughout Elizabeth I's court - and its hold over the Queen herself; Robin E. Cousins on Dee's angel-magic and alleged authorship of the grimoire Tuba veneris; astrologer Tracy Thursfied on Dee's charts; and Rosemary Warner on John Dee and Elizabethan Ciphers.

It was a brilliant day on every level - well organised, thought-provoking and with more than a dash of sheer style. Thanks to Geraldine and Bali Beskin of Atlantis, and the latter for the world-beating cake, complete with bits of gold.

25 June 2012 - Dr Dee: the opera
As a curtain raiser to Dee Day, the conference on the work of the Elizabethan magus taking place on Saturday, 30 June, L&C attended the opening night of Damon Albarn's folk opera Dr Dee at the Coliseum in London.

It was a stunning show, even for those for whom opera is not usually the entertainment of choice. Although the cast was superb, it was the design and staging that provoked the gasps of amazement and delight - the live ravens (talk about stage presence!) winning the biggest cheers.

Did the show succeed in promoting Dee's significance to a modern audience? Perhaps. But it did establish, in a few broad, mainly visual, strokes, the numinous world he conjured - and lived for.

24 June 2012 - John Millar, 1929-2012
Lynn and Clive write:

'We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of John Millar, Chairman of the Saunière Society, who passed away last night after suffering a stroke. A friend for more than ten years, through his and his wife Joy's energetic work organising the society's many conferences, John gave our work - and that of many other authors and researchers - an important platform. His wide knowledge of matters religious, historical and esoteric made him an invaluable contact for our research, and his wicked and irreverent sense of humour made him great company. We'll miss John. Our thoughts are with Joy, son Chris and the family at a very difficult time.'

18 June 2012 - Turin Shroud eBook date announced
Publication of the eBook edition of Turin Shroud: How Leonardo da Vinci Fooled History has been set for 19 July. This revised and updated edition, published by Little, Brown, includes a new epilogue about Lynn & Clive's big discovery of the connection between the image on the Turin Shroud and Leonardo da Vinci's newly-rediscovered Salvator Mundi (Saviour of the World). This is the long-awaited proof of a direct connection between him and the relic. At last!

11 June 2012 - Dee Day!
Lynn and Clive are thrilled to be booked to speak on Dee Day, Atlantis Bookshop's one-day conference exploring the world of Elizabethan magus, spymaster and all-round genius John Dee. The event, coinciding with Damon Albarn's stunning folk opera Dr Dee at the English National Opera, takes place at Swedenborg Hall in London's Bloomsbury on Saturday, 30 June.

L&C's talk, 'Dr Dee's Copernican Agenda', focuses on the mage as major champion of Copernicus' heliocentric theory in Elizabethan England, revealing that his motives were primarily esoteric, rather than a purely scientific.

The other speakers include Glyn Parry, Robin E. Cousins and Tracy Thursfield, all authorities on Dee's life and work.

For full details see the Atlantis Bookshop web site.

8 May 2012 - Out There
L&C filmed an interview for a documentary by American film maker Phil Leirness, a follow-up to his 2011 The Truth Is Out There, which followed Lone Gunmen star Dean Haglund's investigation of the conspiracy community. L&C's friend, Canadian-born researcher Mark Bennett questions them on the intricacies of belief and counter-belief in the modern world.

4 May 2012 - Reprints
Little, Brown's Sphere imprint have reprinted Turin Shroud: How Leonardo da Vinci Fooled History and Double Standards: The Rudolf Hess Cover-Up, which L&C wrote with Stephen Prior and Robert Brydon in 2001 - so all their books are still in print. No mean achievement in this fickle day and age!

1 March 2012 - The Da Vinci Shroud, reloaded
UK's Channel 5 rescreened the documentary The Da Vinci Shroud - Revealed, originally broadcast in July 2009. Produced and directed by Chris Holt for Pioneer Productions, the film examines L&C's theory that Leonardo da Vinci was the master hoaxer behind the Turin Shroud - and presents exciting new evidence. Despite being a mere repeat, it was still the Daily Telegraph's TV pick of the day.

1 Mar 2012 - A Mammoth eBook
Robinson have published a Kindle edition of Lynn's 2001 Mammoth Book of UFOs. Now all the joint and solo books published by Constable and Robinson - Lynn's Mary Magdalene: Christianity's Hidden Goddess and The Secret History of Lucifer, and Lynn and Clive's The Forbidden Universe - can be enjoyed as eBooks.

13 Feb 2012 - Templars Revealed on eBook
Random House are to publish an eBook edition of L&C's classic - and, as major influence for the Da Vinci Code, massively influential - The Templar Revelation.

No date yet, as Random House are steadily working through their back catalogue, but it should be out sometime in 2012. Watch this space…

2 Feb 2012 - Back to Blavatsky
After a particularly delicious pie at Canteen in Baker Street, L & C gave their talk on The Forbidden Universe to the Blavatsky Lodge at the Theosophical Society in central London. It was a great evening, among highly appreciative friends old and new.

12 Jan 2012 - Turin Shroud revised - again!
Lynn and Clive are beyond delighted that not only are Little, Brown to publish an eBook edition of Turin Shroud: How Leonardo da Vinci Fooled History but it will feature an entirely new epilogue. This reveals the unequivocal - and highly dramatic - connection between the Shroud and Leonardo da Vinci's newly-rediscovered painting Salvator Mundi.

The eBook is also significant for a downright Fortean synchronicity: a version of Turin Shroud has been published every six years since its first publication in 1994, with revised editions in both 2000 and 2006. Here's to further revelations in 2018…

The eBook should be available in the spring or early summer.

5 Jan 2012 - Kindling Lucifer

30 December 2011 - New Dawnings
The January-February issue of New Dawn, available now, carries L&C's article: 'Giordano Bruno: Forgotten Genius and Hermetic Martyr', extolling his sadly little-known gift to the world of Hermetic genius.

In the same issue there's also a news article about the sensational connection between the Turin Shroud and Leonardo's painting, the Salvator Mundi.

The bi-monthly magazine is available on news stands in Australia and New Zealand, from Barnes and Noble stores in the USA, and by subscription in the rest of the world. Single issues can be downloaded (on pdf) from New Dawn's web site.

16 December 2011 - More Dark Lore
Volume six of the DarkLore anthology edited by Greg Taylor, including an essay by L&C on the origins of the Royal Society, is available from today. The article explores the Society's connections with Freemasonry, Rosicrucianism - and, excitingly, the world of seventeenth-century espionage.

This highly-recommended collection also includes contributions from Robert Schoch, Nigel Watson, Mark Foster and Greg Taylor himself, covering subjects as diverse as Fulcanelli, the Giza tunnels and sewer monsters.

This and the other five volumes of DarkLore are available from the DarkLore web site or, of course, Amazon.

14 December 2011 - Now in the Mainstream
Edinburgh-based publishers Mainstream are putting out eBook editions of their two Picknett, Prince and Prior works, War of the Windsors: A Century of Unconstitutional Monarchy and Friendly Fire: The Secret War Between the Allies.

They'll be available in early 2012.

1 December 2011 - WitchFest: Your Hot Date
Due to their increasing popularity among Wiccans and assorted pagans, L&C have already been booked to speak at next year's WitchFest International, on Saturday, 17 November 2012, at Croydon's Fairfield Halls.

They'll be giving their brand-new, landmark talk on 'The Real Da Vinci: Genius, Heretic, Illusionist and Bad Boy - But Not the Messiah'.

30 November 2011 - Local heroes?
The Shroud/Saviour of the World PR goes nearer to home, being featured in L & C's local newspaper the Croydon Guardian - and being talked about in the Croydon Visitors' Centre.

26 November 2011 - Another New Dawn
A special issue of New Dawn magazine exploring secret groups and elites that control - or aspire to controlling - the world is now out. It includes an article by L&C on the important politico-occult ideology of Synarchy and its influence over major events in twentieth-century Europe. The scary part is their not inconsiderable role in the development of the European Union…

The issue also includes articles by Robert Bauval and Graham Hancock and James Wasserman on Freemasonry.

The special issue is available on newsstands in Australia and New Zealand, from Barnes and Noble stores in the USA, and as a download from the New Dawn web site.

25 November 2011 - Stench of Truth
As Lynn was unwell, Clive did a solo turn on Ted Torbich's show, which explores the paranormal, occult, hidden history and conspiracies, on the Inception Radio Network.

The two-hour discussion focussed on L&C's new discovery of the match between Leonardo da Vinci's Salvator Mundi and the Shroud of Turin, but also ranged over related subjects such as the Johannite heresy, the Knights Templar, the hidden symbolism in Leonardo's works, and the impact of the Hermetic tradition on the Renaissance and origins of science. Phew…

For those who didn't catch it live, the show is available for on-demand listening at the Inception Radio Network site.

Thanks to Ted, always a courteous and knowledgeable host.

23 November 2011 - DarkLore 6
The sixth volume of DarkLore, the Fortean anthology series edited by The Daily Grail's Greg Taylor and out in December, will include an essay by Lynn and Clive on the origins of the Royal Society and its connection with Freemasonry, Rosicrucianism, the Hermetic underground - and the world of espionage!

This and the other five volumes of DarkLore are available from Amazon or the DarkLore web site.

17 November 2011 - Swanky, Popular - and Grailed!
Two web sites have featured L&C's new claims about the connection between Leonardo da Vinci's recently rediscovered Salvator Mundi and the Turin Shroud.

The lifestyle web site The Morton Report - 'where popular culture meets swanky living' - has an interview with L&C by their 'Notes from a Weird World' columnist James Clark about their amazing - and truly historic - discovery.

And it also stars in a posting by Greg Taylor on the indispensable Daily Grail web site.

16 November 2011 - New Year, New Dawn
The January-February 2012 issue of New Dawn will carry an article by L&C on the strange and significant life of the sixteenth-century Hermetic martyr Giordano Bruno, highlighting his contributions to the scientific revolution - and the scandalous way he has almost been airbrushed out of history.

The bi-monthly magazine is available on news stands in Australia and New Zealand, from Barnes and Noble stores in the USA, and by subscription in the rest of the world. Single issues can be downloaded (on pdf) from New Dawn's web site.

12-13 November 2011 - A Weekend of Witches and Fortean Wonders
You wait all year for major conferences and then two come at the same time. L & C loved the weekend, but as they were speaking at both venues it was a hectic couple of days. And all that rushing around meant sadly that they couldn't relax and enjoy more of both events.

Saturday saw L&C's return to WitchFest International ('the largest Witchcraft festival held in the world in recorded history') in Croydon's Fairfield Halls - their third consecutive year, and a step up to the Ashcroft Theatre stage - with a very well-attended talk based on The Forbidden Universe.

As always, WitchFest is a special day, with a uniquely friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Thanks to David Mercer and the Children of Artemis for asking them, and to Marzena for organising the book signing and sales.

Then they dashed off - if one can dash burdened with so many heavy books - to central London for the Fortean Times UnConvention, where L&C gave a slightly different version of the talk the next day. Their first UnCon for five years, it was the usual mix of the bizarre and the challenging - and that was only the audience…

Thanks to FT editor David Sutton for the invitation, and Jemma Ryan for all her hard work organising the speakers.

12 November 2011 - Return to Stench of Truth
Ted Torbich has invited L&C back on his weekly Stench of Truth radio show, exploring the worlds of the paranormal, the occult, hidden history and conspiracies, on the Inception Radio Network, on Friday, 25 November 2011, at 7pm EST (midnight in the UK), to discuss their latest Shroud of Turin discovery and other subjects.

To listen live go to the Inception Radio Network web site. The show will be archived for on-demand listening.

9 November 2011 - Lynn and Clive do YouTube with Sensational New Evidence to Link Leonardo da Vinci with the Shroud of Turin!
The big news in the art world this week is the first public showing of the 'lost' Leonardo da Vinci painting, Salvator Mundi (Saviour of the World) - rediscovered after 350 years - at the National Gallery's exhibition 'Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan' in London. The event is also eagerly welcomed by Lynn and Clive - as, unbeknown to art historians, the painting presents compelling new evidence to link Leonardo with the Turin Shroud, adding to the case presented in their book Turin Shroud: How Leonardo da Vinci Fooled History.

In this short video Lynn and Clive explain how the precise match between the face of Christ on the Salvator Mundi with that of the Turin Shroud - way beyond coincidence - establishes a firm connection between Leonardo and the alleged holy relic. For a more detailed account of how the discovery fits in with their previous work click here.

Thanks to Katia Milani and Stewart Ferris at Summersdale Productions for all their sterling work in putting the video together - especially at such short notice - and their unswerving patience, enthusiasm and support. Lynn and Clive could never have done it without them - literally. (And apologies to their [New] Yorkie Pooch, who tried so hard to be in the video. Next time, perhaps.)

28 October 2011 - New Dawn - New Light on Ancient Knowledge
The November-December issue of New Dawn, 'the World's most unusual magazine', carries an article by Lynn and Clive, 'From Ancient Egypt to Modern Science: The Forgotten Link'. Developing ideas in The Forbidden Universe, this explores the pivotal role of the Hermetic texts in transmitting ancient Egyptian concepts about cosmology to the founders of modern science.

Apart from its usual mix, the issue also has articles by geologist Robert Schoch on the reality of psi and additional senses beyond the usual five, former CERN scientist Bernardo Kastrup on the compatibility of science and spirituality, and John Chambers on the 'Chinese Nostradamus', Liu Ji.

New Dawn is available on news stands in Australia and New Zealand, from Barnes and Noble in the USA, and by subscription for the rest of the world. Single issues can be downloaded from News Dawn's web site.

10 October 2011 - UnConventional Plans
To P & P's enormous delight, details have been finalised for the Fortean Times UnConvention. They'll be speaking about The Forbidden Universe on the Sunday (13 November), at 12 noon and signing books. Life doesn't get much better than that.

Other speakers on what promises to be a memorable weekend include Jon Ronson, Dave Clarke and Andy Roberts, and Gail-Nina Anderson. For full details and to book, see the UnCon 2011 web site.

30 September 2011 - RILKO: Secrets of Lost Knowledge
Lynn and Clive gave their Forbidden Universe talk for the Research Into Lost Knowledge Organisation at the Theosophical Society's HQ in central London. It went particularly well and some old friends in the audience made it an especially enjoyable evening.

Along with other lectures from their diverse programme, RILKO plan to make the talk available as an audio download - watch the RILKO web site for details.

Thanks to RILKO Chairman Rob Stephenson for the invitation and a very lively evening.

3 September 2011 - Saunière Society at Folkestone Revisited
L & C returned to speak at the Saunière Society's one-day conference at Newington Village Hall, Folkestone, on the subject of science's roots in the ancient Hermetic texts and their curious relevance today.

As usual, it was a thought-provoking and enjoyable day - and it was good to see so many new faces.

Thanks to Joy and John Millar for the invitation and Rat Scabies for the efficient and gossipy taxi service.

2 September 2011 - New Dawn Alien Special
A special edition of New Dawn devoted to UFOs and alien contact includes L & C's article ('Behind the Mask: Aliens or Cosmic Jokers?') on two alternatives to the most popular, extraterrestrial explanation of the phenomenon. These are the 'Magonian hypothesis' - that 'aliens' are earthly entities belonging more to the supernatural realm, akin to angels, demons and spirits - and the 'Federal hypothesis': that, contrary to most conspiracy theorists' belief, government agencies actively encourage belief in UFOs as ET spacecraft. The article focuses on the bizarre but true story of the Council of Nine, first investigated in L & C's 1999 The Stargate Conspiracy, exploring the implications of the above-mentioned alternative views of alien contact - especially if both turn out to true.

The special issue will be available for three months on newsstands in Australia and New Zealand, from Barnes and Noble stores in the USA, and as a download from the New Dawn web site.

28 August 2011 - An International Fest of Witches
Always one of L & C's favourite gigs of the year, they'll be speaking at their third WitchFest International in a row.

Organised by the leading wiccan group the Children of Artemis, the Fest is on Saturday, 12 November and, as always, will be at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon, south London. For full details of the event and to book, see the WitchFest web site.

It'll be a busy weekend as Lynn ad Clive are speaking at the Fortean Times UnConvention the next day. You know what they say: no rest for the w….

26 August 2011 - 'Highly Recommended': New Dawn Reviews The Forbidden Universe
The September-October 2011 issue of New Dawn carries a lengthy and highly positive review of The Forbidden Universe. Describing it as 'well researched', reviewer Lesley Crossingham highlights L & C's argument that 'Human beings are hard-wired to seek the transcendent', and concludes, 'I highly recommend this concise and well constructed book for any serious student of science or hidden history...'

New Dawn is available on newstands in Australia and New Zealand, in Barnes and Noble stores in the USA, and as an e-mag from the New Dawn web site.

The show is available for on-demand listening and download on the Guardians of the Holy Grail web site.

Thanks to Mark for being so welcoming and showing such great taste as to have them on his show!

8 August 2011 - New Italian Lucifer
A new Italian edition of Lynn's The Secret History of Lucifer, published by Newton Compton editori, is now available, but still with the brilliant English language edition front cover.

5 August 2011 - Paranormal and Forbidden
The new issue of the glossy and attractive Paranormal Magazine, featuring an article by Lynn and Clive tied in to The Forbidden Universe, is now available. Thanks to Editor Brian J. Allan for being so supportive and helpful.

Entitled 'Being Human: The Great Magical Experience', the piece explores the implications of humanity's 'hardwiring' to think in magical terms about the world and our place in it. The evidence suggests it's not the believers who are weird, Richard Dawkins et al please note…

5 August 2011 - Guardians of the Holy Grail
L & C are booked to appear on the Guardians of the Holy Grail internet radio show hosted by Mark Amaru Pinkham, to talk about The Forbidden Universe, on Thursday 25 August. The show is broadcast on BBS Radio and starts at 12 noon Pacific Time (8pm in the UK).

3 August 2011 - Theosophical Society talk
Lynn and Clive have been invited to give a talk on, and sign copies of, The Forbidden Universe to the Blavatsky Lodge of the Theosophical Society on Thursday, 2 February 2012. The lecture will take place at the Society's London headquarters at 50 Gloucester Place, London W1. See the Future Events page for full details.

Thanks to Alistair Coombs for the invitation.

27 July 2011 - New Dawn Alien Special
L & C have contributed their own take on alien contact and UFOs to New Dawn's special issue on the subject. Using the vexed events surrounding the murky Council of Nine channelling cult (as featured in The Stargate Conspiracy), they discuss alternative scenarios to the extraterrestrial explanation. But just because it's not ET, it doesn't mean the phenomena involved are not terrifying, ambiguous and in most senses that matter, 'real'.

The magazine will be available at the end of August, on newstands in Australia and New Zealand, in Barnes and Noble stores in the USA, and as an emag from the New Dawn website.

17 July 2011 - 'Down the Pub' - In a Big Way!
The launch party of The Forbidden Universe was finally featured in Wetherspoon News, the glossy magazine of the J.D. Wetherspoon pub chain (p. 62 of the July/August issue).

P & P, who are stalwart fans of J.D.W.'s, are delighted to make it into that particular hall of fame. In fact, they'll drink to that!

16 July 2011 - Coast to Coast at the Crack of Dawn
Lynn and Clive got up at an ungodly hour (for them anyway) to do a three-hour telephone interview about The Forbidden Universe with Ian Punnett on the American hit show, Coast to Coast AM. As usual, Ian was an insightful, highly knowledgeable and charming host, although some of the callers were somewhat bizarre.

15 July 2011 - 'Rock Stars of the Esoteric'
P & P received a copy of the new magazine Mindscape, complete with a rave review of The Forbidden Universe by Editor Andrew Gough, who notes: 'Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince are rock stars of the esoteric genre… the authors present their case splendidly, with wit, irony and a knack for the sublime. Furthermore, the book has balls…' He also admits he'd like 'to see the authors duke it out with the Anti-God Squad in person…'

Well, Anti-God Squad, you know where to find these particular ballsy authors. But let's not forget The Forbidden Universe is also no friend to creationists, so who's for a three-way fight?

1 July 2011 - A Fragrant Night
Lynn and Clive's appearance on Ted Torbich's 'Stench of Truth' programme on the Inception Radio Network went swimmingly. Ted was on excellent form, smoothly hosting the discussion based on elements of The Stargate Conspiracy - largely the CIA's exploitation of the channelling cult centred on the entities known as the Council of Nine.

Interviewer and interviewees all agreed that the situation was complex, and that the putative spirits could have been genuine - perhaps the tricksy 'Ultraterrestrials'. L & C reckon staying up until 2am was well worth it.

The show is available for on-demand listening at the Inception Radio web site.

29 June 2011 - Coast to Coast Stateside - Yet Again!
Lynn and Clive are booked to talk about The Forbidden Universe on the Coast to Coast AM show hosted by the wise and entertaining Ian Punnett - one of their most knowledgeable and devoted fans - on Saturday, 9 July at 11pm PST (7am, Sunday morning in the UK). They've almost forgiven him for introducing them last time with the opening bars of 'I Got You Babe'!

Coast to Coast AM ('the most listened to overnight radio program in North America') is syndicated to radio stations throughout the USA and Canada - to find the nearest go to the Coast to Coast AM web site.

28 June 2011 - From Blog to Network
Ted Torbich's show has moved from BlogTalkRadio to the Inception Radio Network, making Lynn and Clive the debut guests on the new platform. Thanks, Ted, for the honour! Date and time (7pm EST/midnight BST, this coming Friday) remain the same.

To listen live, go to the Inception Radio website. The show will be archived for on-demand listening.

24 June 2011 - Another New Dawn
The July issue of New Dawn, containing 'Search for the Mind of God' by Lynn and Clive, is available from today.

Based on The Forbidden Universe, the article explores the growing scientific evidence for design in the universe - but emphatically not for the God of the Bible - and how cutting-edge physicists are now advocating concepts also found in the ancient texts that inspired the scientific revolution in the first place.

New Dawn is available on news stands in Australia and New Zealand, from Barnes and Noble stores in the USA, and by subscription in the rest of the world. Single issues can be downloaded on pdf file from New Dawn's web site.

23 June 2011 - A Feast of Forteana
Two bits of Fortean Times news… First, Lynn and Clive are over the moon, cockahoop, made up, thrilled to bits and/or any other similar phrase, to be appearing at this year's Fortean Times UnConvention, on the weekend of 12-13 November, speaking about The Forbidden Universe. It's been five years since they appeared at an UnCon, and they can't wait. If you can't either at least check out the details, which will follow asap.

And also see the July issue of FT, available today, which features a tie-in article to The Forbidden Universe by Lynn and Clive (coincidentally together with a piece by on the interstellar origins of life by Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe, a major star of part two of the book).

L & C's article, entitled 'The Day the Earth Stood Still', tells the real story behind the persecution of Galileo for promoting the sun-centred model of the solar system - and why it presented such a threat to the Church. As they explain, the truth is spectacularly different from the textbook version - but then you would hardly expect our heroes to promote the conventional line, would you?

23 June 2011 - More Paranormality
The July issue of Paranormal Magazine will include an article by Lynn and Clive on the basic human instinct - so fundamental as to be hardwired into us - to see the world in supernatural, magical terms. The article develops one of the most thought-provoking themes of The Forbidden Universe.

22 June 2011 - Saunière Society invitation
Lynn and Clive will be speaking on The Forbidden Universe at the Saunière Society's public meeting at Newington, Folkestone on 3 September. For more details, see the Future Events page.

6 June 2011 - Reviewed in Magonia
A positive review of The Forbidden Universe (together with Gary Lachman's The Quest for Hermes Trismegistus) by Mark McCann has appeared on the online Magonia Review of Books. To read the review, click here.

4 June 2011 - Knowledge Lost and Found
The prestigious Research Into Lost Knowledge Organisation (RILKO) have invited Lynn and Clive to give a lecture on The Forbidden Universe, on Friday, 30 September 2011. See the Future Events page or the RILKO web site for more details. Thanks to RILKO Chairman Robert Stephenson for the invitation.

26 May 2011 - Articles of Faith
Major tie-in articles to The Forbidden Universe by Lynn and Clive will feature in forthcoming issues of two internationally-renowned magazines.

The July issue of Fortean Times (available from 23 June) will tell the real story behind the Inquisition's persecution of Galileo for promoting the heliocentric theory - and why it really posed such a threat to the Church.

The July/August edition of New Dawn, available in the last week of June in Australia, New Zealand and the USA (and subscription/download in the rest of the world), will include 'Searching for the Mind of God', exploring the growing scientific evidence for design in the universe - which, perhaps more satisfyingly, also vindicates the ancient Hermetic texts that inspired the scientific revolution in the first place. It's very much back to the future for science.

25 May 2011 - A Longer Life in Italy
Milan publishers Sperling and Kupfer have extended their rights to the Italian edition of The Templar Revelation for a further five years. When publishers - of all people! - are also fans, it's especially encouraging.

20 May 2011 - Picking Up the Scent
American conspiracy commentator Ted Torbich has invited Lynn and Clive to appear on his BlogTalkRadio show, the strangely-named The Stench of Truth, to discuss their 1999 book The Stargate Conspiracy. The two-hour show will be streamed on 1 July. See the Stench of Truth web site for full details.

9 May 2011 - Secret Chiefs
This evening saw a welcome return to Secret Chiefs at the Devereux Arms in London where there was a packed house for Lynn and Clive's talk on The Forbidden Universe, detailing the influence of the Hermetic tradition on the scientific revolution, and its relevance for the future of science. There is something spookily neat about the evidence emerging from science itself that we inhabit a living, evolving conscious universe - very like the concepts expressed in the ancient texts.

Thanks to Michael Bingas for the invitation.

3 May 2011 - Happy Birthday, Colin!
The May/June issue of New Dawn magazine - its 20th anniversary issue, in fact - carries an article by Lynn and Clive marking Colin Wilson's 80th birthday (on 26 June).

Entitled 'Onside with the Outsider' it examines the development of his major themes over the last five decades and his enduring challenge to consensus reality. They also stressed that he remains upbeat about humanity's potential, unlike the gloom and doom hysteria - the alleged coming apocalypse of 2012 and so on - that seems endemic in some esoteric/New Age quarters. It was an honour to be asked to write the piece.

New Dawn is available on news stands in Australia and New Zealand, from Barnes and Noble stores in the USA, and by subscription in the rest of the world. Single issues can be downloaded on pdf file from New Dawn's web site.

15 April 2011 - US launch of The Forbidden Universe
This was the official publication day of the US edition of The Forbidden Universe, by Herman Graf's Skyhorse imprint.

After the Publishers Weekly review (see below), it's all to play for…

14 April 2011 - Behind the Scenes at the Library
Lynn and Clive gave their new Forbidden Universe talk at Swindon Central Library, which was well attended and prompted some interesting debate at question time. Books were duly signed. Thanks to librarian Leon Flower and PR Gina Rozner for arranging it.

11 April 2011 - Publishers Weekly review
Ahead of the US publication, Publishers Weekly have given The Forbidden Universe a very positive review, calling it (among other things) 'fascinating and erudite'… as well as dubbing Lynn and Clive 'provocateurs'. Whatever that means - but they quite like the sound of it.

The review can be read on the Publishers Weekly web site.

28 March 2011 - The Forbidden Universe at the Secret Chiefs
Lynn and Clive are delighted to be giving a talk on The Forbidden Universe to one of their favourite groups, the 'cultural, magickal and pagan soirée' that is the Secret Chiefs, on Monday 9 May. The meeting is at the historic Devereux Arms pub in Devereux Court, central London. The evening begins at 7.30 and admission is £2.00. See the Secret Chiefs web site for more details and directions.

25 March 2011 - The Forbidden Universe in Swindon
Swindon Central Library have invited Lynn and Clive to give a talk about The Forbidden Universe, followed by a book signing, on 14 April at 7.30.

24 March 2011 - Forbidden Universe launch day!
Launch day of the UK edition, in hardback and kindle, of Lynn and Clive's latest book, The Forbidden Universe: The Occult Origins of Science and the Search for the Mind of God. Like all launches it feels weird - after all that time locked away writing and revising, suddenly the book is real and it's party time with friends and colleagues.

The night was a huge success. Attendees included authors, researchers on a host of colourful topics and journalists such as Robert Feather, Simon Brighton, Jane Lyle, Caroline Wise, Mark Bennett, Stewart Ferris, Sally Morgan, Charles Fowkes and Will Fowler. Also present in force were representatives of publishers Constable and Robinson, who had the great good sense to publish the book, including Andreas Campomar, editor Leo Hollis, and PR Gina Rozner.

Everyone was particularly delighted when television explorer and all-round-nice-guy Bruce Parry turned up.

19-20 March 2011 - Saunière Society Scottish symposium
In the historic and delightful surroundings of Newbattle Abbey College in Midlothian, Lynn and Clive gave their first talk on The Forbidden Universe to the Scottish symposium of the Saunière Society.

Other speakers included Brian Allan, Simon Brighton and Maurice Cotterell. Delegates remarked on a particularly lively speakers' forum on Saturday evening…

It was also a good opportunity to meet up with some old Scottish friends, justly-famed researcher Bob Brydon and the artist Lindsay Brydon, and Edinburgh publicist and media-man John Ritchie. Plus of course, it's always fun to catch up with Rat Scabies.

Thanks to Saunière Society organisers John and Joy Millar.

26 February 2011 - Saunière Society symposium, Folkestone
Lynn and Clive gave talks on, respectively, Mary Magdalene and John the Baptist, to the one-day Saunière Society symposium in Newington Village Hall, Folkestone, their first to the society in a while. Always a well-read and knowledgeable audience!

Thanks to Joy and John Millar for the invitation.

22 January 2011 - Alien TV
Lynn was interviewed at her Croydon home by Andrew Gough for Philip Gardiner's forthcoming documentary on alien abduction, directed by Layla Randle-Conde. The interview was specifically about issues raised in Lynn's 2001 Mammoth Book of UFOs - such as the scarily striking similarities between ancient stories of fairy abduction and the modern rash of alleged alien kidnappings.

20 January 2011 - The Rudolf Hess Cover-Up: Romania
The Romanian translation of Double Standards: The Rudolf Hess Cover-Up, co-written with the late Stephen Prior, was published today by Rao Books, under the title Cazul Rudolf Hess: Dezertor sau mesager?.

26 December 2010 - The Last Supper, revisited
The New York Post printed an article by Larry Getlen, tied in to the opening of Peter Greenaway's multimedia exhibit of Leonardo's 'Last Supper' in the city, on 'conspiracy theories' about this and other works of Leonardo, for which Lynn was interviewed (as one of the conspiracy theorists, naturally). The article took the predictable line: we must be wrong because 'experts' say so.

The article can also be read online, on the New York Post web site.

22 November 2010 - Saunière Society bookings
Lynn and Clive have been invited by their old friends at the Saunière Society to give lectures at both of their spring symposiums.

The first will be on Saturday, 26 February at Newington Village Hall, Folkestone, where Lynn and Clive will give separate talks, both based on the reality behind two New Testament characters. Lynn will be speaking about Mary Magdalene and Clive about John the Baptist.

Then at the weekend symposium at Newbattle Abbey College in Midlothian, Scotland on 19-20 March Lynn and Clive will be unveiling their new book, The Forbidden Universe, which is published the following week (although advance copes will be available at the symposium).

For full details of both events, and how to book, see the Saunière Society web site.

6 November 2010 - WitchFest 2010
As always, WitchFest International, organised by the influential pagan group the Children of Artemis, was a delight. Lynn and Clive spoke on 'Lucifer: Trouble Maker or Light Bringer?' (based on Lynn's The Secret History of Lucifer) showing how the archetypal representative of enlightenment and freedom of thought became literally demonised - and how women were not only the inevitable scapegoats for all evil and disasters but also the focus of misogynistic sadism in the witch hunt hysteria. And as her followers called Mary Magdalene 'Mary Lucifer' (Mary the Light-bringer), to the Church Fathers she became synonymous with sin and female shame, although she was perhaps the least ashamed woman in history.

The talk was followed by a book signing. Thanks to the Children of Artemis, and particularly organiser Dave Mercer, for a splendid day.

4 November 2010 - The new Masks of Christ
The 'B' format paperback edition of The Masks of Christ is available in the UK from today.

14 September 2010 - Lynn and Clive to appear at WitchFest International
Lynn and Clive are thrilled to have been asked to talk at their second WitchFest in a row. This year's festival, held as always in Croydon's Fairfield Halls, will be on Saturday, 6 November. The subject of Lynn and Clive's talk will be Lucifer - trouble maker or light bringer? For full details of the festival - always a highlight of the calendar - see the WitchFest web site.

9 August 2010 - The Forbidden Universe
Constable have brought forward the publication date for Lynn and Clive's latest work, which is now entitled The Forbidden Universe: The Occult Origins of Science and the Search for the Mind of God. Rather than the early summer as originally planned, The Forbidden Universe will be in the shops on 24 March 2011.

The US edition, published by Herman Graf's Skyhorse imprint, will be launched on the same day.

13 July 2010 - The Masks of Christ 'B' format
Sphere have set the date for the UK publication of the 'B' format paperback (the conventional paperback size as opposed to larger 'trade' format of the current edition) of The Masks of Christ for 4 November 2010.

26 June 2010 - Back in Bucharest
It was a great pleasure for Lynn and Clive to be back in Bucharest for their second lecture for CISCE, the Centrul Independent de Studii si Cercetari Ezoterice (Independent Study for Esoteric Study and Research) - everyone likes to be among friends and returning to the scene of past triumphs!

Part of CISCE's monthly series of free public lectures, held in the Universitatea Populara Ioan I. Dalles, the subject of their talk was their research into the medieval Knights Templar, dispelling some of the popular myths about them while also challenging the conventional historical line that there are no unanswered questions about this most secretive of medieval chivalric orders, as well as presenting the evidence for its pivotal role in the transmission of the Johannite heresy in the European mystery tradition.

As always, the hospitality of their Romanian hosts, especially Dr Vlad Sauciuc and his wife Mariana, was stunning. And even though English travellers who venture into Carpathian mountains have had something of a rough ride according to the likes of Bram Stoker, this time Lynn and Clive escaped unscathed. Lynn claims to have seen a bear. Nobody believed her.

7 June 2010 - The Emperor's New Clothes
A well-attended meeting of the Secret Chiefs heard Lynn and Clive's talk on their research into mysteries as diverse as the Turin Shroud and Rudolf Hess' flight to Britain in 1941, and how a direct approach to the evidence and a refusal to be over-awed by academic and official authority produces the most astonishing results. Thanks to Michael Bingas and Roz Gurney for the invitation - always a pleasure!

15 May 2010 - A new Secret Chiefs talk
Lynn and Clive are to give next month's talk at the gathering of the Secret Chiefs, described as a cultural, magickal and pagan soirée. Beginning at 7.30 on Monday, 7 June at the Devereux Arms in central London, their talk, entitled 'The Emperor's New Clothes', will be their approach to research (best described as bloody-minded) and the strange paths on which it has led them. For full details see the Secret Chiefs web site.

6 May 2010 - The Johannite Grail
As Lynn couldn't appear owing to illness, Clive went solo for Mark Amaru Pinkham's Guardians of the Holy Grail show on the BBS internet radio network. The live discussion focussed on the Johannite tradition and its relevance for understanding the Grail legends and much else, including the origins of Christianity itself. The show can be heard again (by subscription) on the BBS web site archive section.

The best wishes of Mark and the listeners for Lynn's speedy recovery were much appreciated.

12 April 2010 - Lynn and Clive to appear on Guardians of the Holy Grail
Lynn and Clive are to make a return appearance on the Guardians of the Holy Grail radio show hosted by Mark Amaru Pinkham on the BBS internet talk radio network on 6 May, to talk about their research into the Johannite tradition.

1 March 2010 - The award-winning Picknett and Prince!
Lynn and Clive are thrilled and honoured that their lecture 'The Bad Samaritan', given in May 2009, won one of the 'best talk' prizes in the Secret Chief's annual Rick Gibson Memorial Awards. They picked up their certificate and prize at tonight's meeting. Thanks to Kleo Gibson, Michael Bingas, Roz Gurney and Alan Rider.

23 December 2009 - Oggi review
The Italian daily newspaper Brescia Oggi carried a review of The Book Jesus Would Never Have Allowed You to Read. This is, of course, the Italian title of The Masks of Christ.

3 December 2009 - Holy Blood
As part of its special blood-themed issue that includes features on Dracula and the blood-sucking Chupacabras of Nicaragua, January's Fortean Times (available now) has an article by Lynn and Clive on the origins on the Christian symbolic blood-and-body ritual of the Eucharist.

Entitled 'Tracing the Eucharist's Source', and based on research for The Masks of Christ, they argue that, contrary to the usual historical interpretation, the Eucharist was not a post-Crucifixion invention of second-generation, non-Jewish Christians but preserves a ritual instituted by Jesus himself. As such it sheds important light on Jesus' own beliefs and motivation.

7 November 2009 - Witching hour
Lynn and Clive gave their talk on 'Simon Magus: The Bad Samaritan' at WitchFest International in Croydon's Fairfield Halls, followed by a book signing for The Masks of Christ. (Who else would sell a book about Jesus to a gathering of wiccans and pagans…)

Thanks to the Children of Artemis, and particularly Dave Mercer, for the usual well-organised, friendly and truly magical day.

29 October 2009 - The Book Jesus Doesn't Want You to Read!
Publication of the Italian translation of The Masks of Christ, under the wonderful title of The Book Jesus Would Never Have Allowed You to Read (Il libro che gesù non ti avrebbe mai fatto leggere), by Newton Compton Editori.

13 October 2009 - Lynn and Clive to speak at WitchFest International
Following their appearance at WitchFest South in May, Lynn and Clive are thrilled to have been invited to speak at the annual WitchFest International - billed as the 'largest witchcraft festival in recorded history' - organised by the Children of Artemis at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon, and taking place on 7 November.

Lynn and Clive will be talking on 'Simon Magus: The Bad Samaritan'. For details of the event, see the WitchFest website.

12 October 2009 - Coast to Coast revisited
A welcome return to Coast to Coast AM saw Lynn and Clive in a three-hour discussion with Ian Punnett (standing in for usual host George Noory), beginning with their work on the Shroud of Turin but moving on to the mysteries of the historical Jesus and the origins of Christianity. They always appreciate Ian's knowledge and enthusiasm - but were a little thrown by him introducing them with a few bars of 'I've Got You Babe', as he's clearly tickled by the idea that they're a sort of British Sonny and Cher.

The show can be heard again on the Coast to Coast AM web site.

3 October 2009 - Return to Romania
CISCE, the Centrul Independent de Studii si Cercetari Ezoterice (Independent Centre for Esoteric Study and Research), have invited Lynn and Clive to appear at one of their monthly public lectures in Bucharest, on Saturday, 26 June next year. The subject of their talk will be the myths and realities of the Knights Templar. Thanks to CISCE's president Dr Vlad Sauciuc for the invitation.

17 September 2009 - The new book! And a new publisher
Lynn and Clive are delighted to announce that, after several months of negotiation, their new book has been signed by Constable and Robinson. Although it will be something of a wrench to leave the Little, Brown group after their long and fruitful association, the new partnership with Constable and Robinson - publishers of Lynn's solo books Mary Magdalene and The Secret History of Lucifer - promises to be both profitable and enjoyable.

Lynn and Clive's ninth book together, with the working title The Forbidden Alternative, will explore the influence of esoteric thought on the origins and history of science, and offer a new and original perspective on the current 'science vs. religion' debate. Publication is planned for the summer of 2011.

As always, Lynn and Clive thank their agent, Jeffrey Simmons, for his hard work in securing this deal.

21 August 2009 - Talking of Jesus
Lynn and Clive recorded a chat-show format interview on the historical vs. the mythical Jesus for Controversial TV's Esoteria, hosted by Nick Margerrison. The show will be broadcast in October or November on Sky channel 200 - check the Future Events page or Controversial TV's web site for the exact date.

1 July 2009 - The Shroud Revealed
UK broadcast, on Five, of 'The Da Vinci Shroud', as part of the Revealed series. Based on Lynn and Clive's research, the documentary unveils new evidence of Leonardo's connection with the Turin Shroud. 8 June 2009 - Guardians of the Grail

6 April 2009 - The Da Vinci Shroud
Premiere, on the Discovery Channel in the USA, of the documentary 'The Da Vinci Shroud', based on Lynn and Clive's research into the Shroud of Turin, revealing new evidence that Leonardo was the mastermind behind Christianity's greatest hoax.

The documentary, made by Pioneer Productions, produced and directed by Chris Holt and narrated by Sean Pertwee, is due to air in the UK, on Five, in July.

29 March 2009 - The Holy Grail in Milan
Lynn and Clive were the key speakers at a conference at the Hotel Michelangelo in Milan, organised by Acacia Ediziones, publisher of, among others, Hera magazine. They were interviewed in, of all places, London's Fitzroy House, one-time international headquarters of the Church of Scientology and now a museum dedicated the life of founder L. Ron Hubbard. The documentary, Angels and Demons: Decoded, will be broadcast on The History Channel in May to coincide with the premiere of the movie. Thanks to Natalie Artin at Prometheus Entertainment for setting it up.

19 December 2008 - A New Shroud Documentary
Filming, at the suitably atmospheric (if bitterly cold) St Mary Magdalene's church in London's Paddington, for a major documentary based on Lynn and Clive's work on Leonardo da Vinci and the Turin Shroud. The documentary, entitled The Da Vinci Shroud, will be broadcast in spring 2009 on the Discovery Channel in the USA and Five in the UK, and will reveal new discoveries about the origins of the Shroud.

The film is being made by Pioneer Productions and is directed by Chris Holt. Thanks to Chris, assistant producer Hannah James and researcher Jean-Michel Villot for making it happen.

20-24 November 2008 - Romanian launch
Lynn and Clive travelled to Bucharest for a whirlwind media tour launching The Masks of Christ, organised jointly by Rao publishing and the Centrul Independent de Studii si Cercetari Ezoterice (CISCE, the Independent Centre for Esoteric Research and Studies). The first foreign-language edition to be published, Rao did an incredible job of translating the book so swiftly.

The book was officially launched on 21 November at the Gaudeamus book fair as part of an intense day of TV and press interviews, which kicked off with a live interview on The Morning Show on the national television station TVR. Lynn and Clive also recorded a chat show, for broadcast a week later, with Antena2 TV, as well as giving numerous interviews to press and TV throughout the day, including the national daily newspaper Cotidianul and the Romanian edition of the New York Times Book Review.

Lynn and Clive would like to thank to all at Rao, especially director general and Ovidiu Enculescu and his wife Anca, their editor Monica Nechiti and publicist Alina Bratu, for all their hard work, kindness and hospitality. Thanks too to their Romanian agent Simona Kessler and to translator Carmen Bourceanu.

The following day Lynn and Clive gave a well-attended talk on the Johannite heresy organised by CISCE. Many thanks to CISCE's president, Dr Vlad Sauciac, for making it all happen, and to TV presenter Oreste Teodorescu for hosting a delightful party afterwards - and to Oreste's mother for the food. It was also a pleasure to meet CISCE member and former deputy prime minister Gelu Voiculescu.

It was a memorable, if hectic, introduction to Romania.

5 July 2008 - A day for Isis
Lynn gave a talk on the significance of Mary Magdalene to the one-day conference of the Fellowship of Isis at the Swedenborg Hall, in Bloomsbury, London, stressing that although as representative and priestess of the Goddess she should be revered, it is important to realise that she was a human being with flaws like anyone else. It was a diverse, entertaining and thought-provoking day, thanks to the exceptional organisation by Caroline Wise. Other presentations included those by Olivia Robinson and Caitlin Matthews. The most unusual element was the finale, a presentation about the Isis and Osiris myth by the extraordinary professional storyteller Xanthe Gresham, about whom the Arts Council said: 'She speaks like a woman spitting jewels'.

3 July 2008 - The Masks of Christ - the launch!
Lynn and Clive were delighted to celebrate the official launch of The Masks of Christ, their eighth book together, with friends and colleagues at the Angel in the Fields in London's Marylebone. At the hugely enjoyable evening, extra special because of the presence of friends old and new, they said this was a book they had always wanted to write, and that researching for it had revealed the astonishing extent of the churches' deception about the true nature and agenda of Jesus.

Among the distinguished guests were writers Ahmed Osman and Dr Robert Feather, astronomers Professor Heather Couper and Dr Nigel Henbest, television producer and historian James Burge, Fellowship of Isis luminaries Olivia Robertson and Caroline Wise, researcher and writer on the esoteric Andrew Gough, drummer and Grail hunter Rat Scabies, John and Joy Millar of the Saunière Society and Executive Producer of David Paradine Productions, Trevor Poots. Also present was Lynn and Clive's agent and friend Jeffrey Simmons, and Keith Prince, who had suggested some of the key discoveries in the book.

24 May 2008 - In memory of Eric Taylor
Lynn and Clive were honoured to attend the gathering at Elvington Air Museum, near York, to celebrate the life of their friend Eric Taylor, who died on 21 December 2007, aged 85.

Eric was always interested in and encouraged Lynn and Clive's ideas and projects, and helped enormously with research for their books dealing with the Second World War, by sharing his firsthand experiences of the Italian campaign and the results of his own extensive research, having become since his retirement from teaching a prolific and respected author of such works as Operation Millennium, Showbiz Goes to War and a number of books detailing the experiences of women at war.

Eric's hugely varied and active life even included a stint playing for Manchester United in the 1941-42 season. His widow, our close friend Sheila (and Lynn's Grammar School English teacher), asked Lynn to say a few words, joining Eric's many family members and friends in eulogising this modest, funny, caring - and much-missed - man.

Thanks to David V. Barrett and Steve Wilson for inviting them along.

15 December 2007 - Christmas on Coast to Coast AM
Lynn and Clive appeared on Ian Punnett's show on America's Coast to Coast AM - apparently granting Ian's Christmas wish from his producer, that he could choose his favourite guests for the show! Lynn and Clive were thrilled to have the rare opportunity of an after-hours visit to the Leonardo gallery of London's National Gallery - behind the scenes at the museum! - when they were interviewed by Javier Sierra for a documentary on the Turin Shroud being produced for the Spanish El Mundo TV channel. Lynn and Clive discussed their uncovering of Leonardo's faking of the Shroud and the hidden symbolism in his paintings (as well as other Renaissance artists such as Holbein). They were also filmed in London's Soho, which currently has a street display of replicas of famous paintings. They were amused to discover the reproduction of Leonardo's Virgin of the Rocks - so important to their theories - on a wall next to a shop selling Goth accessories and blaring heavy metal! Perhaps Leonardo would have approved… Details of the broadcast are to follow.

Although set to be interviewed outside London's famous Temple Church, a day of cloudbursts meant that Lynn talked Templars for Radio Four in the canteen of the BBC's Bush House - an informal setting for what proved to be a very enjoyable occasion. Her role for the wider programme was to persuade anchorman Martin Palmer that there are indeed reasons to take Templar mysteries seriously. Thanks to producer Norman Winter for arranging the interview. The programme will be aired in late June.

24 April 2007 - The Templar Revelation 10th Anniversary edition
Lynn and Clive are extremely proud at the launch (in the UK only) of the tenth anniversary edition of their most influential book, The Templar Revelation. 13 March 2007 - American Shroud launch
The official launch day in the USA of the new, extensively revised and updated The Turin Shroud: How Da Vinci Fooled History (a slightly different title from the UK edition), published by Touchstone. The new edition presents new and conclusive evidence of Leonardo da Vinci’s involvement with the Shroud, in the shape of the extraordinary precision of the match between the face of the man on the Shroud and Leonardo’s painting Salvator Mundi. The perfection of the fit goes far beyond coincidence and establishes a direct and intimate connection between Leonardo and the Shroud, the implications of which are explored in the book.

To see the match for yourself, click on the links below. The first superimposes the Shroud face, and the second a portrait painted from the Shroud by Ariel Aggemian in the 1930s, onto the Salvator Mundi. (The links run Windows Media Video files, which are best viewed full screen. They may take some time to load, so please be patient.)

28 January 2007 - An apology for Satan?
After getting up at an ungodly hour to do a telephone interview with the Austin, Texas radio station GCM Live, on The Secret History of Lucifer, Lynn was outraged to have her work described on air by host John Conner as 'an apology for Satan'. As the half hour progressed it was obvious that the programme had a solidly Christian Right agenda. Having heard her book - and herself - misrepresented in the most extreme language for the umpteenth time, and with just a few minutes to go, Lynn put the phone down on him and the listeners - hating to be unprofessional but realising that she had no option. Never to be repeated!

28 July - 6 August 2006 - Rennes-le-Château Revisited
For the first time in several years Lynn and Clive returned to the celebrated and mysterious village of Rennes-le-Château in the Languedoc, south-western France. Initially they were there for the birthday party of punk drummer-turned-Grailhunter Rat Scabies - which was, as expected, enormous fun - which was held in the priest Saunière's former garden (now a restaurant run by researcher and author Jean-Luc Robin).

Lynn and Clive also took the opportunity to spend a few days catching up with developments in the village and meeting up with friends old and new - as well as Rat and his family, Henry Lincoln, documentary-makers Stewart Ferris and Katia Milani, and many other familiar faces from the Saunière Society, including Joy and John Millar (Rat's mum and dad).

2 July 2006 - Terminal delays
Despite the best efforts of Lynn and Clive and their agent, Jeffrey Simmons, on this side of the Atlantic and event organiser James Rishky - plus a Congressman and immigration specialist - on the other, Picknett and Prince finally had to admit defeat. Even their rescheduled talk in Portland, Oregon, for James’ The Da Vinci Series will no longer take place. Apart from inexplicable delays in processing what should have been routine paperwork, essential documents were repeatedly lost, and wrong advice and contradictory information given, leading to appointments for Lynn and Clive’s visa interviews at the US Embassy being rescheduled three times, right up to the wire. All deadlines having passed, to their great disappointment it is not now possible for them to make any of the rescheduled dates. However, Lynn and Clive are very grateful to James for his graciousness and incredibly hard work in organising and publicising the event - and hope, should the US authorities ever let them into the country, at the very least to buy him a large drink! They also sympathise with all those who bought tickets for the event.

The programme will be broadcast at a future date.

26 June 2006 – Fortean Times
The July issue of Fortean Times – a special edition relating to The Da Vinci Code – has a major feature by Lynn and Clive on ‘The Real Priory of Sion’ and a page on the Turin Shroud and Leonardo’s Salvator Mundi (as well as a wonderful pastiche of da Vinci’s Last Supper by Alex Tomlinson on the cover, with various characters from the Priory of Sion story taking the place of the apostles – worth buying for that alone!).

23 June 2006 – Portland Lecture Cancelled
Owing to inordinate bureaucratic delays in processing the paperwork required by US Immigration, with great regret and much frustration Lynn and Clive have had to cancel their lecture in the Da Vinci Series in Portland, Oregon, that was due to take place on 28 June. They, and organiser James Rishky, hoped right to the wire that the necessary documentation would arrive. Lynn and Clive send their apologies to those who’d bought tickets to the event, but it really was due to circumstances beyond their, and the organiser’s, control. James is currently working hard to reschedule the event, hopefully within the next few weeks. See this site and davinciseries.com for updates.

22 May 2006 – Radio Scotland
In another movie tie-in, in the morning Lynn appeared on The MacAuley and Co show on Radio Scotland, describing the experience of filming the cameo. (Clive was due on as well, but was defeated by Monday morning traffic on his way to Broadcasting House, arriving breathless just as the item finished.)

20 May 2006 – Culture Shock
BBC2’s Culture Show and anything that was remotely pro-Da Vinci Code was always going to be a combustible mixture - as, indeed, Lynn's appearance on 20 May proved. This was the perfect opportunity for the Arts Establishment to sneer at the world of Dan Brown and Picknett and Prince - and they seized it with both hands, although resorting to astoundingly blatant underhand tactics to do so.

When recording her interview, Lynn had repeatedly stated that she was talking about the Louvre version of Leonardo’s Madonna of the Rocks when revealing the giant phallus rearing up from the Virgin’s head to the skyline. In fact, the director, Victoria Page, promised to feature that version of the painting and not the one in London’s National Gallery, as Lynn explained that although the feature is present in both versions, it is much more noticeable in the French one. Perhaps all too predictably, however, the broadcast programme used the London version - i.e. the wrong painting - making it so much easier for presenter Andrew Graham-Dixon, an art historian, to dismiss the phallus as fantasy.

Although Victoria Page claims that she has no memory of promising to feature the Louvre painting, in Lynn and Clive’s view this was deliberate misrepresentation, and as a result she has made a formal complaint to the BBC.

A&E also broadcast the Illuminating Angels and Demons documentary made by UFO Global Media (previously available as a retail DVD), which features contributions by Lynn and Clive.

19 May 2006 – Temples, Psychics and Science
Another new experience for Lynn and Clive as they acted as tour guides for the Elderhostel party on a visit to London’s Temple Church (the regular guide for this part of the tour not being able to make it). The Church is a major location in The Da Vinci Code, book and movie.

In the evening Lynn and Clive appeared on LBC radio’s The Psychic Show, hosted by Becky Walsh and Chris Hawkins, talking about how The Templar Revelation inspired The Da Vinci Code.

An article on Lynn and Clive’s work on the Turin Shroud, especially their groundbreaking discovery connecting Leonardo’s Salvator Mundi with the Shroud, was featured on the First Science web site (www.firstscience.com). Thanks to editor Sandrine Ceurstemont for this.

18 May 2006 – At last, THE Movie!
At last - the moment of truth. Would The Da Vinci Code movie still include the scene with Lynn and Clive on the top deck of a number 11 with Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou, or would their moment of fame (Lynn and Clive’s, not Tom and Audrey’s) be a thing of dust on the cutting room floor? There wasn’t a London premiere (the stars and director being in Cannes), but Lynn and Clive were invited to the next best thing, the Cast and Crew Screening in the Odeon West End in Leicester Square the night before the film went on general release. Actually so engrossed by the action, they nearly missed themselves - but yes, not only are they there, but the camera manages to give the impression they’re almost the only people on the bus apart from the principals. (Not so - the bus was packed with extras.) It was a very good moment in the history of P & P - and there was a bonus. The only real book in the movie, as opposed to those allegedly written by Robert Langdon, is Lynn’s Mary Magdalene, which Ian McKellen’s character Sir Leigh Teabing clutches close to the camera at one point.

17 May 2006 – Dan Brown’s Mentors?
Items about Lynn and Clive’s cameos in The Da Vinci Code movie appeared in the Daily Express (featured with their review of the movie) and Hugo Rifkind’s People column in The Times (which described them as ‘Dan Brown’s Mentors’ – which is perhaps going a little far!).

16 May 2006 – Elderhostel Evening
The second of Lynn and Clive’s evenings lecturing to a party from Elderhostel Tours. An extremely enjoyable evening all round.

10 May 2006 – The Da Vinci Debate
Lynn and Clive found themselves in unfamiliar territory, at the Christian Resources Exhibition - a sort of Christian Ideal Home Exhibition, only with vestments and (non-alcoholic) communion wine instead of novelty toasters and patio furniture. Lynn was roped in for a live interview on Sky News, along with Robin Griffiths-Jones, Master of the Temple (Church). Then on to the panel discussion, where P & P were joined by Father Peter Malone, Catholic media commentator; David Couchman, evangelical theologian; the Master of the Temple, and Ruth Gledhill, Times columnist and host. All too predictable, and the audience seemed less interested in The Da Vinci Code and its implications than in grabbing the mic to bear their Christian testimony. Still, it was good practice!

9 May 2006 – Speaking Up for Leonardo
Lynn was filmed for an item on Leonardo da Vinci in the BBC’s Culture Show – tied in to The Da Vinci Code movie release – which is to be broadcast on 20 May.

2 May 2006 – Hunting a Legend
Just to prove there really is no rest for the wicked, while at Coombe Abbey Lynn and Clive were filmed with Graham Phillips for a documentary on his search for the Ark of the Covenant, a programme in the Legend Hunters series to be broadcast on the Travel Channel in the autumn.

1 May 2006 – The Alchemical Wedding
A May Day to remember - off to the remarkable country house hotel, Coombe Abbey near Coventry, to participate in the extraordinary wedding of close friends Deborah Benstead and Yvan Cartwright. Meticulously and lovingly planned to the last minute detail, it took the form of a re-enactment of the marriage of James I’s daughter Elizabeth to Frederick V of Bohemia in 1613 - a true Rosicrucian-alchemical wedding, celebrating the magical and universal balance of male and female energies. With jewels and feathers in her hair, and a version of Princess Elizabeth’s dress - complete with bustle, train and embroidered Rosy-cross on her bodice - Debbie was a spectacularly beautiful and striking bride, and Yvan most dashing in flared gold floor-length coat, the design based on a 17th-century hunting coat. The ceremony was presided over by author Graham Phillips, with ringing voice and commanding presence, and erudite esotericist Paul Weston. Lynn was Chief Bridesmaid (in shimmery moon-coloured silver), representing the element of Air (which traditionally rules the art of writing), and Clive, as her escort and one of the witnesses, wore a black floor-length coat of the same design as the groom’s. The audience of friends and family were utterly rapt as this exceptional event unfolded. Lynn read ‘What is Love?’ by Krishnamurti at the civil ceremony, before the day exploded into jollity with a medieval banquet and a disco. We wish Debbie and Yvan a happy life together!

30 April 2006 – Sunday in Oregon
Lynn and Clive’s appearance on The Sunday Magazine broadcast on the five Clear Radio Stations in Portland, Oregon. The station is also streamed live on www.1190KEX.com.

29 April 2006 - Unconventional
Lynn and Clive opened the annual Fortean Times Unconvention, with their talk on the ‘Priory of Sion: The Facts and the Fiction’ and a mini-presentation of their big Shroud discovery.

27 April 2006 – Reuters Reveal
Lynn and Clive were interviewed by Reuters TV on their discovery about Leonardo da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi and the Turin Shroud, for general syndication.

24 April 2006 – Da Vinci’s Code
The documentary Da Vinci’s Code, featuring appearances by Lynn and Clive, broadcast in the USA on the National Geographic Channel. (Details of broadcasts outside the US to follow.)

23 April 2006 – Bestseller cynicism?
Clive appeared on BBC WM in Birmingham’s Sunday Breakfast Show hosted by Robert Beckford, in a debate about the issues raised by the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Easter sermon criticising the ‘cynicism’ of books such as The Da Vinci Code. The other contributors were novelist Michael Dobbs, author of House of Cards and a series of novels on Winston Churchill (something of a buzz, as he’s one of Clive’s favourites), Claire McDonald from Opus Dei and the Muslim commentator Abid Baig.

21 April 2006 – More Oregon Radio
Lynn and Clive recorded second radio interview to promote the Da Vinci Series, this time with Mike Phillips of The Sunday Magazine, on the five Clear Channel Radio Stations in Portland, Oregon (1190KEX, 620KPOJ, K-103, KIJZ and Z-100). It will be broadcast on Sunday, 30April at 6.30 PDT – it’s also being streamed at www.1190KEX.com.

19 April 2006 – Kink FM
US radio interview promoting the Da Vinci Series of lectures - for which Lynn and Clive will be speaking in June - with Inessa at Oregon’s Kink FM.

19 April 2006 - Metro
Article in the London Metro on Lynn and Clive's new discovery about Leonardo’s Salvator Mundi and the Turin Shroud. Strangely, and disappointingly, though, no mention of the actual book!

12 April 2006 – The Masks of Christ, US
The Masks of Christ has been signed in America by Touchstone (the imprint of Simon and Schuster that publishes The Templar Revelation and The Sion Revelation), Lynn and Clive are pleased to announce.

10 April 2006 – Big Bite
Appearance on Eire’s The Big Bite (RTÉ), on a discussion panel about The Da Vinci Code weighted somewhat in favour of the Catholic Church - Catholic priest, journalist and theologian! - but Lynn and Clive did more than hold their own.

9 April 2006 – Saunière Society
Lynn and Clive gave a talk on the Priory of Sion to the Saunière Society, rounded off with a short presentation about their new discovery that links Leonardo da Vinci once and for all with the Shroud of Turin - which prompted a spontaneous burst of applause. The conference was held at Newbattle Abbey College near Edinburgh - very picturesque, although it's easy to forget how basic student accommodation can be! Other speakers included Henry Lincoln (under siege from reporters desperate for his view of the verdict of the Da Vinci Code trial) and Rat Scabies (Chris Millar), formerly drummer of punk band The Damned, and now a self-styled 'Grail hunter'.

7 April 2006 – Judgement Day
At last it was Judgement day in The Da Vinci Code trial: Mr Justice Peter Smith resoundingly dismissing Baigent and Leigh’s case with the momentous words: 'The claimants' claim fails'. There was no copyright infringement. The media sensation – and the many references to The Templar Revelation as the ‘third book’ in the case - led to appearances by Lynn and Clive on Good Morning America and Sky News to discuss the verdict. The media scrum on the steps of the High Court when claimant Richard Leigh appeared unexpectedly (his own barrister seemed to have no idea he was even in the building) was terrifying.

6 April 2006 – The Big Shroud Discovery Goes Public
Publication of the revised Turin Shroud – How Leonardo da Vinci Fooled History in the UK, an event Lynn and Clive had hardly dared hope for, for several years. They celebrated with friends and colleagues at a launch party the night before at their favourite venue, the Irish pub/restaurant the O'Conor Don in Marylebone Lane, central London. Lynn and Clive presented a short show of moving images proving that da Vinci's painting The Salvator Mundi (Saviour of the World) matches exactly with the image of the man on the Shroud. Lynn and Clive were especially delighted that Keith Prince was among the guests, as his insight and hard, hands-on work in replicating the Shroud characteristics in the early 1990s was absolutely critical to the book's success.

1 April 2006 – Lynn and Clive to Speak at Questing Conference
Lynn and Clive were confirmed for Andrew Collins’ annual Questing Conference, on 28 October. Always one of the highlights of the year, the 'QuestCon' is a unique forum for new, exciting ideas, sometimes off-the-wall but always challenging - and never dull!

31 March 2006 - Return to RILKO
Talk on ‘The Real Priory of Sion’ to the Research into Lost Knowledge Organisation (RILKO), in South Kensington, London. Thanks to Robert Harris and Rob Stevenson for this enjoyable return date among old friends.

28 March 2006 - A Room in Bloomsbury
The first of Lynn and Clive's series of evening talks to members of the American Elderhostel tour of senior travellers, here as part of whistle-stop tour of Da Vinci Code sites. Lynn and Clive gave two talks, the first on The Real Priory of Sion, then, after an enjoyable dinner, The Secret World of Leonardo da Vinci. Although a few of the guests found the revelation of his reverence for John the Baptist as superior to Jesus rather strong stuff, most of the audience were stimulated and fascinated, giving glowing feedback. The evening took place at the Kenilworth Hotel, near the British Museum, in Bloomsbury, central London.

21 March 2006 – Templar Revelation to be re-launched in Brazil
Planeta Brasil are to bring out a new edition of The Templar Revelation in Brazil.

16 March 2006 – Lynn and Clive to Speak at Fortean Times Unconvention
Lynn and Clive have been confirmed for the annual Fortean Times Unconvention on the weekend of 29-30 April. They will be giving a presentation on The Priory of Sion: The Facts and the Fiction.

13-15 March 2006 – Dan Brown in the Box
As the High Court case continued, Lynn and Clive were again in Court 61, this time for Dan Brown’s cross-examination by Baigent and Leigh’s QC. In his witness statement, and under cross-examination, a remarkably self-possessed and courteous Dan Brown stated that it was, in fact, The Templar Revelation that was his major inspiration for The Da Vinci Code. This resulted in a much media attention to the book, The Times featuring its front cover in an article on 15 March.

14 March 2006 – Gaston College Roundtable
Clive did an hour-long live interview on Gaston College Roundtable, station WSGE-FM in Charlotte, North Carolina, 'down the line' on The Sion Revelation.

11 March 2006 – Saunière Society
Clive gave a lecture on the Priory of Sion to the Saunière Society’s conference in Folkestone. Unfortunately Lynn was still unwell and wasn’t able to appear.

7-10 March 2006 – Da Vinci Code Trial Continued
Lynn and Clive were back in the High Court as the Da Vinci Code trial resumed (although Lynn missed the last couple of days as she was unwell). Most of the four days were devoted to the cross-examination of Michael Baigent, who endured three and a half days of searching, 'forensic' questions by the defence’s barrister, Mr John Baldwin QC - an unenviable situation and a sorry spectacle. Richard Leigh was also cross-examined, although only for a couple of hours. A pleasant surprise was meeting Javier Sierra, author of The Secret Supper – a novel also based on the hidden heresy in Leonardo da Vinci’s paintings, which has been a huge success in Javier’s native Spain, and just published in the UK and USA. Javier was in London promoting The Secret Supper and couldn’t miss the chance to see the courtroom drama. Dan Brown and Javier Sierra in one tiny courtroom!

1 March 2006 – Sion in Bulgaria
Bulgarian rights to The Sion Revelation sold to the Bard Publishing House.

March 2006 – Russian Edition of Shroud
Russian translation of Turin Shroud published, by Eskmo. (A translation of the 2000 revised edition.)

27-28 February 2006 – Da Vinci on Trial
Start of the High Court case brought by Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh, two of the authors of The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, against Random House, UK publishers of The Da Vinci Code – a case with important implications for all writers. Brown, Baigent and Leigh were present, together with top representatives of Random House. Lynn and Clive were also in the courtroom to follow proceedings at first hand, having successfully fought the media scrum for seats in the small and stuffy modern Court 61 - soon discovering that the proceedings were curiously addictive. The first two days were taken up with opening submissions and wrangling over procedural matters, before the judge, Peter Smith, adjourned for a week to give him the chance to read all the books involved – not just The Holy Blood and The Da Vinci Code, but the other books Brown used as source material, including The Templar Revelation.

28 February 2006 – Lucifer Returns, USA
US release of the paperback edition of Lynn’s The Secret History of Lucifer, by Carrol and Graf.

28 February 2006 – More American Radio

27 February 2006 – Sion in Hungary
Hungarian rights to The Sion Revelation sold, to Goldbook.

22 February 2006 – The New Book
Lynn and Clive are absolutely thrilled to announce that they have signed with Time Warner Books in the UK for their next book, provisionally entitled The Masks of Christ. Due to be completed in the summer of next year, it will probably be published in 2008. Thanks to their agent, Jeffrey Simmons, for closing the deal.

20-21 February 2006 - Eire
Another crack-of-dawn start for the publicity tour (for The Sion Revelation) of Eire. Interviewed by the Sunday Independent, Sunday Tribune and Film Ireland magazine, all of which seemed to go well, despite very well-informed and searching questions. The interviews were conducted in the most civilised surroundings, the sumptuous coffee lounge of the Merrion Hotel, three Regency houses knocked together opposite the Irish Parliament in the centre of Dublin. Also rather wide-ranging interviews on Spin Radio and Northern Sound Radio - the discussion opened out into the vexed question of Church cover-ups, always a preoccupation in Ireland. This was followed by a magnificent steak at the Mermaid restaurant, James Street. Unfortunately their appearance on the Gerry Ryan show on RTÉ Radio next morning was cancelled at the last minute (that’s show business!). However, the unexpected free morning gave them the opportunity to visit the memorial to the Magdalene laundresses and their children - a park bench with brass plaque reading 'Reflect here upon their lives' - in St Stephen’s Park. It seemed such a small memorial for such a massive scandal. So much human agony and terror encapsulated in those simple words. (For details see the first chapter of Lynn's Mary Magdalene: Christianity's Hidden Goddess.)

18 February 2006 – Coast to Coast
Lynn and Clive got up heroically early at 3.30 am for a three-hour appearance about The Sion Revelation with Ian Punnett on US’s Coast to Coast AM. For those who missed it, the show can be downloaded from www.coasttocoastam.com/gen/page1296.html.

16 February 2006 – A Whale of a Time
An hour-long appearance on The James Whale Show on Talksport radio, 11am to midnight UK time, talking about The Sion Revelation. James and Lynn and Clive go back a long way - Lynn especially, as she used to be a regular contributor to phone-ins for Talk Radio. Both were very amused by the cross-talk between James and his producer, Adam Webb - and, leaving at around midnight, bumped into the 60s' sensation, the Hollies. Bizarrely, Lynn's cab home was struck hard on the windscreen by a football, but fortunately the driver's reflexes were robust and no harm was done.

16 February 2006 – Da Vinci Series
Lynn and Clive are thrilled to have been invited to appear in the Da Vinci Series of lectures in Portland, Oregon. Speaking on the secret societies featured in The Da Vinci Code, theirs is the third of the three weekly lectures in the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, on 28 June 2006 (the others being by Elaine Pagels, author of the classic The Gnostic Gospels and art historian Jeannine O’Grody). Thanks to organiser James Rishky for arranging this. For more details, see davinciseries.com.

15 February 2006 – Cable Talk
Lynn and Clive appeared on Cable Talk, hosted by Jack Roberts, on America’s Cable Radio Network, talking about The Sion Revelation.

12 February 2006 – Losing Faith
Lynn and Clive’s appearance on BBC Radio Suffolk’s The Faith Programme was cancelled at the last minute because of a breaking local news story. Sitting with headphones on in an almost completely empty Broadcasting House before returning home, mission unaccomplished, was not the ideal way to spend a cold and wet early Sunday morning.

10 February 2006 – Radio Tour of UK
Various promotional appearances on UK radio: Annie Othen Programme, BBC Coventry and Warwickshire; John Uphoff Show, BBC Radio Jersey; Jerry Scott Show, BBC Radio York - at last! For some reason Lynn has always been ignored by the media of her home city - John Turner Show, BBC Radio Bristol (taped for later broadcast). Thanks for Jenny Fry at Time Warner for organising this.

29 January 2006 – Express Delivery!
A three-page article by Lynn and Clive appeared in the Sunday Express Review, ‘The real dangerous secret of The Da Vinci Code’, which also featured a very small picture of them and a very large picture of Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou from the movie of The Da Vinci Code. Perhaps it was at last tacit acknowledgement of Picknett and Prince's central role in the whole Da Vinci Code story - or on the other hand, just a good picture?

27 January 2006 – More American Radio
Radio appearances promoting The Sion Revelation on the Morning Show on WOCM-FM (Ocean City, MD) and Drive Time on WKCT-AM (Bowling Green-Nashville). Thanks to Lisa Sciambra at Simon & Schuster and Carly Nyman Fauth at Newman Communications for organising this.

26 January 2006 – Station to Station
American publicity for The Sion Revelation kicked off with a coast-to-coast morning radio ‘tour’, taking in 16 stations throughout the day (including some pre-records for later broadcast). Cities included Chicago, Boston, Indianapolis, Salt Lake City, Milwaukee and San Francisco - exhausting, but large glasses of water, glucose tablets and adrenaline gave it a real buzz! Thanks to Lisa Sciambra at Simon & Schuster, and Christina Reilly and Liz Titone at Auric Communications Group, for organising this.

26 January 2006 – Lucifer Returns
The paperback edition of Lynn’s The Secret History of Lucifer has been released in the UK, by Constable.

25 January 2006 – Temple Filming
On a bitterly cold day Lynn and Clive filmed interviews at the Temple Church in London for a documentary linked to Dan Burstein’s Secrets of the Code. Convoluted systems for granting the crew permission to film nearly scuppered the shoot, but all was well in the end.

January 2006 – Russian Revelation
Russian translation of The Templar Revelation published by Moscow’s Eskmo Publishers.

12 December 2005 – Elderhostel Tours
Lynn and Clive are delighted to announce that they have agreed with Elderhostel, the educational tour company for the over-55s, to lecture on the London leg of their Da Vinci Code tour programme throughout 2006. Portuguese rights to The Sion Revelation sold to Publicacoes Europa-America (publishers of The Templar Revelation). No details yet on when the translation will be available, but it will probably be in about a year.

11 November 2005 – More Camera Action
Lynn and Clive were interviewed for National Geographic Channel documentary on The Da Vinci Code at the Edwardian Radisson Hotel in Leicester Square, central London. While filming them walking in the square, the camera man suddenly got very excited by the appearance of none other than Ozzy Osbourne in shot!

6 November 2006 – German Shroud Reissue
Lübbe have re-launched the German edition of Turin Shroud (Die Jesus-Fälschung) – unfortunately a straight reprint of the 1994 edition, with none of the more up-to-date material.

1-2 October 2005 – Weekend in Wigtown
Lynn and Clive appeared as part of the annual Wigtown Book Festival in Scotland, which also featured many other authors including Kate Adie, Max Arthur and George Galloway. They gave two lectures, one on Friendly Fire (in a whisky distillery in Bladnoch – a first!) and the last one of the festival, in a packed hall at the library, on 'The real Da Vinci Code’. A curious place in the wilds of the Galloway peninsula, Wigtown boasted a peculiar plethora of bookshops - second-hand, rare and other bibliophilic specialities - plus an excellent, if idiosyncratic clubroom for speakers, at which lobster and delicious home-made sweets were generously served, even on the morning after a excessive night before. Thanks to festival organiser Finn McCreath for arranging the visit to Wigtown.

27 September 2005 – Angels and Demons
Release of the DVD Illuminating Angels and Demons, the film companion to Simon Cox’s unauthorised guide to Dan Brown’s first Robert Langdon novel, released in the USA (with UK distribution), featuring interviews with Lynn and Clive about the Illuminati and other related subjects.

25 September 2005 – Lynn on the Grail Trail
Broadcast of ITV1’s The Southbank Show’s ‘The Grail Trail’, featuring Lynn. The film followed three Da Vinci Code enthusiasts around key locations in Europe, meeting and quizzing experts on the subjects dealt with in Dan Brown’s novel. After a nightmare journey on Eurostar that was three hours late in reaching Paris and in searing heat, Lynn was filmed in the magnificent Château de Villette, which features in The Da Vinci Code. The night in the Hotel Delavigne was enlivened by the fire alarm going off twice. Thanks to ITV director Matt Cain and the château's manager, Andrew Ryan, for making this trip so enjoyable and memorable.

17 September 2005 – A Day to Remember
The long-awaited Big Day... Lynn and Clive filmed their cameo appearance in The Da Vinci Code movie. Off to an inauspicious start at the crack of a very cold morning on location at Lincoln's Inn Fields, London when they were mistakenly taken to be mere extras (the very idea!). A quick word of explanation - Dan Brown and Ron Howard both thought it was a good joke to have the British authors who inspired so much of The Da Vinci Code lurking anonymously in a scene of the movie - and they were taken to their own trailer, and kept informed of what was happening by one of the Assistant Directors. The big scene involved sitting on the top deck of a number 11 bus immediately behind Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou, and even taking a bit of direction (just reacting to what was going on). The scene involved the bus driving round and round the same circuit of City of London streets about 50 times, a cavalcade of police motorbikes and cars ushering it through red lights. In between takes, Lynn and Clive got the chance to chat to Mr Hanks, who was very sharp-witted, funny and kind, and Ron Howard, who is utterly devoid of airs and graces and was a delight. On being given a signed copy of The Templar Revelation Tom waved it at the fans on the pavement, mouthing 'Buy this book!' Then, the cherry on the cake, Lynn explained to him that it was Clive's birthday, at which Tom immediately led cast and crew in singing 'Happy Birthday, to you...' It doesn't get much better than that! Perhaps if there's a category for Oscar for 'Best Performance for People Sitting Behind Tom Hanks on a Bus'... Thanks to Toby Hefferman, Talley Singer and Ron Howard, who - despite their incredible workload - had done so much to make this dream come true.
